Desk was bought over a decade ago at Circuit City.  LCD's on left and right are 22" 16X10 (Ubunta & Apple) in comparison to 30" 16X10 (W7).  Got my exercise elliptical facing 2011 55" 3D LG TV.  I can play music on the PC in the background and watch movie/news while working out.  Makes workout painless.  Got a couple Kegerators stocked with Miller Light (one at at time, takes about 2months to gulp down) which I mix with Miller 64 because I am a lightweight, ha.  Ultimate bachelor pad in my basement except I am divorced after 15 yrs of marriage and not looking back or forward either.

haha would that movie your have on be this

Good thing I wasn't taking pics after 11pm on the MAX with Directv
Got the NFL Ticket too, oh so sweet.  Workout with the best athletes.

After taking pics of my own rig desk setup personally and seeing them on EVGA forums, it dawns on me that pics of LCD's do not demonstrate the actual size to the end user experiences.  They look puny/weak in pics by comparison to real life. Just a FYI thingy

I think who has and spent the most money on a gaming desk top set up wins because they would have all the good nice products and unique furniture design in their rooms.

Lol it actually works pretty good for gaming. I played a random match of bf3 on it to make sure it worked before my buddy came over today and I went 54 and 14 on my level 7 guest account. Quality isn't perfect but it still works.

nothing wrong with CRT monitors, I loved my 19" NEC FE991, I bought it brand new in 2003 and used it up until around 2009 playing games at 1600x1200 on it. I had to get rid of it though cause the Tube was finally going out on it

anyway I would post my system setups but I think not, my desk is kinda messy and I have dust all over under my table lol

This is about as nice as it gets. And I always sleep with 2 blankets. That's how I roll sir. I find it odd that you are commenting on my bed??

Hi all (First Post on EVGA Forums - woot)!

First off, just want to thank everyone for participating in this thread as it has served as gold mine in helping me assess my next gaming desk purchase.

My current desk has TERRIBLE ergonomics (too high, no depth for monitor) and looks ugly (was budget).
I finally have some money to my name and am willing to buy bigger & better in order to get a comfortable, ergnomic, and most important: a COOL looking desk setup.

Was looking for something that fit the following bill:
-lots of leg space (not surrounded by leg cabniets)
-lots of surface area (can move keyboard and eat while watching something easily, also need to place my CPU Tower Full ATX on the desk)
-ergonomic height-wise
-bad arse looking
- I like the L Shape

TLDR:
I really like the desks posted by RushXTC and 02bwln.
Can you guys post where you got your desks and the price range for them?

Also if anyone has any suggestions for me please help a fledgling noob out :)!

I am moving my gaming setup to another room in my house, and am also building a table from scratch to accommodate everything. I am building a 'trestle' style table using plywood oak veneer top, and solid oak boards for the feet, legs, braces, etc. Finished size will be 40"x78". This is the first such project I have done, but I have studied it out carefully so am hopeful it will turn out nicely. I got my original idea from here, and my table will look somewhat similar. I will upload a picture when it is all done--probably a week or two. Nice thread by OP.

Well, If you already like my desk and it does fit that criteria you posted, Why not!

My desk is by Z-Line, I purchased it at staples about 2 years ago, I believe. It was close to $300 at the time, Now it's pretty cheap!!

http://www.staples.com/Z-...-L-Desk/product_727061

4 1/2 stars out of 261 reviews at the staples site.

Can't find that one in amazon, But if I had seen this one I would have purchased it, So I could have my printer on top and my PS3 as well..... It's $159 shipped.

http://www.amazon.com/Z-L...eywords=Z-Line+Designs

-lots of leg space (not surrounded by leg cabniets)  There's a very good amount of leg space here :)
-lots of surface area (can move keyboard and eat while watching something easily, also need to place my CPU Tower Full ATX on the desk) As you can see, The glass holds my heavy case (Full size as well) and I have my monitor hanging on the wall on the right side, My speakers underneath, My mouse and keyboard and if I want to eat I can push keyboard back and have more than enough room, Lol.
-ergonomic height-wise Height is pretty average, If you have a desk chair the shouldn't really matter.
-bad arse looking I love the nice clean look the glass/black trim gives it
- I like the L Shape It is indeed L-Shape and fits nicely in the corner.

Updated pic:

If you need anymore help or have any questions about my desk, Go ahead and ask. Just as an FYI, I've dropped heavy speakers on the glass, I've set my PC down too fast where I thought it would break, Nothing breaks this glass. Well maybe a hammer, But I don't really want to find out LOL. It has gone through years of torture and it's still here standing strong.

Imperial L-Shape is pretty much the same as mine, Made by a different company. If you don't like the one I linked above, Then this one has my vote. Much cleaner looking than a wooden desk.

Re:best gaming desk setup 2013/02/15 14:50:14 (permalink)
I posted back in January about my project--building a large solid oak table for my gaming setup. I thought it would be done by now, but I need another couple weeks. Everything is ready to be assembled shortly. Then I have to order the needed finishing supplies online as they are not available locally. I hope to have it all done in about two weeks or so. The table components I have constructed have turned out quite well, so things are looking good. I think this is going to be a really nice setup--a lot of work has gone in to it so far. Hope this thread stays active so I can upload the final result.
