Good to hear a rough date, but sadly that is still a ways away.

Just curious, but can someone shed a little light on EVGA RMA Rate for their motherboards? I saw an interesting article on the RMA rates of the major board manufacturers for the Z77 chipset and it made me wonder what EVGA's was currently for their X79 lineup of boards. Anyways, it would be great to know and would bring me more confidences in the EVGA brand.

Cheers,
HGL

The Z87 Classified is scheduled for September
So, DigiTimes was right. It's so pity, it will be not until September.
I have to wait until October to get Classified in hand in Russia.

BTW, why did you expand only width of the motherboard, but not a length to fill 9 expansion slots?
And what do you think about such options with SAS/SATA external chip(LSI 3008) as Z78 ASRock Extreme11 will have?

I would assume so it could fit in mid tower cases.

Yes, It's possible but not every mid-tower case can be fitted to Classified additional width with respect to ATX (263.5mm vs 244mm)
And I don't think that most of buyers will use a mid-tower case with motherboard intended for extreme overclocking.

As to me, I bought Fractal Design Define XL R2 case for this.

Does anyone know whether EVGA will allow the step up to work with the Dark X79 to jump up to a z87? I am trying to get some parts together for my new build and the classified z87 ins't due out till Sept. so I decided I would just step up if they allowed it. Also would like to know how exactly that would work? Thanks in advance.

Someone correct me if I am wrong.

This is a z87 not x87. The x79 is more powerful than the z87. The x series is more focused on high end enthusiasts. While the z series is more focused on mid/high end.

So I do not think the will do a step up from the dark to the z87 classy. But you never know.

Even less can accommodate an XL-ATX board.

You are probably right about the target market though.  So let's say "price" is the reason that it isn't as long as the last x79.  You mentioned an AsRock board, which needed many more components to fit the extra hardware.  It costs $200 more than the Classified (and the Dark, which I guess is its main competition from EVGA).  That's a significant difference.

Did you mean X79 Dark? If yes, they equal in sizes. The length of X79 Dark is 12"(304.8mm) what's the same as Z87 Classified have.

I asked about full 9 slots length because I think this will allow to make pci-e slots more distant and manageable.

Yes, you are quite right about difference in price, but this is Sparta EVGA!! The more, the merrier!
How shall EVGA do exceed the best then?

Thanks for noticing the mistake reedited my post lol. So either way there is a possibility of a step up. The x79 is a better board compared to the new z87 you think?

The thing isn't in who is better, this's a different lines of products. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think it isn't possible to make such step up.

Okay then let me ask this since there 2 different lines of products. Which would you say is closely related to the x58 Classified 3 SLI? The x79 Dark or the z87 Classified?  After actually typing this question I think I might have answered my own question lol. Don't mind me guys might be a little tipsy already lol. But it never hurts to ask the pros on these forums :)

X58 is the predecessor of x79. So it is naturally closer.

The z87 is a 4 core cpu i7 k series that costs roughly 300 dollars. The x79is a 6 core i7 k series cost 600+ dollars. So you can make a choice...

Could you please stop dodging the question that's been asked at least 4 times by my count?  You're bleeding customers because you're not willing to give us the slightest idea where you're at with this.  If your manufacturing and procurement processes are so unpredictable that you can't forecast your inventory for the next three months I'm SHOCKED that you're able to put out a quality product EVER...even 3 months late.

I'll lay it out, very pointedly, just so we're all clear what we're waiting for and how long *APPROXIMATELY* we can expect to wait.

Stinger - ALREADY RELEASED in US, SEPTEMBER-OCTOBER in EU
FTW - ???????????
CLASSY - SEPTEMBER in US, OCTOBER-NOVEMBER in EU.

Give us something on the FTW board.  Give us something more specific on expected EU shipments.  I apologize for coming off brash here.  I'm getting very annoyed that these boards are so late coming out, even with the C2 chipset, and EVGA is giving their biggest fans no transparency on the ETA of these products.

I have some unfortunate news about the FTW.

Unfortunately it will miss its target release because of a component that needs to be updated.

Right now the ETA is in October, I know this is not the most ideal news, but I don't want you to keep waiting with no updates. We are trying to pull it in but that is the best date I have right now.

Classified will be sooner than that, but still trying to nail down the ETA.

Why did I buy 4770K ... with such late availability of Z87 Classified in Europe it seems easily to wait a Haswell refresh announce next spring.
