rjbarker ^^^ With 5.3 all P Cores what kind of Max Temps you hitting w R23.....I was getting around 88c to 90c on a couple of hot cores...the rest around 78c to 88c.....scaling that back to 5.1 all core and 1.2v Im back down to upper 60's .... My loop is 3 Radiators *9 ...pretty robust cooling.
I'm hitting 100C at discrete points on a few cores, so some thermal throttling. Sustained more like high 80s. My CPU loop only has a single 480 rad with push/pull. Optimus block, no washer mod or lapping. Ambient in SoCal doesn't help much either.

Braegnok Only reason I would risk spending $800 on KS chip would be for stronger IMC,.. I haven't had much luck with 12900K lottery.
Do better binned cores typically correlate with a stronger IMC? Or is it a crapshoot either way?

No, not really in my experience or from reading forum posts on overclock.

What was the name of that company ? Silicon Lottery or something like that....I know when I built my 9900K system they were selling binned chips that were OC'ing to 5, 5.1 and even 5.2 .....the only problem I would see with these Alder Lakes is even with a robust Loop like mine...the voltage required for 5.3 results in pretty high temps anyhow.... I did go for an all core 5.4 P and 4.1E but after 135v and stil drashing in R23 I know the temps would be up in the 100c range so gave up. Dialing back to 5.1P 4.1E with 1.18 - 1.22 vcore seems like a pretty decent sweet spot.....5.2 was also pretty good..... Impressive chip really, even "all stock" it smokes thru everything ;)

Yah, Silicon Lottery. I had them delid my 10900K. Never got on with the binned chips, preferred to roll the dice. Kinda miss delidding. Gives the opportunity to remove/improve one more thermal barrier.

fragility_V1 .... I had them delid my 10900K... I have been thinking about this for my 12900 all week. I see people hitting temps of 100C, and I 'm like wuuut. There is just no way I would feel comfy about having a CPU pegged at 100C. I came across an article of someone delidding a 12900 and saving about 15-20C, but I lost the article.

I think it's a lot harder to delid the 12900k. Silicon Lottery was around for the 11900k, and they did not offer delidding service because of the possibility of damaging the CPU. Would love to do it again, but seems there's a good chance of ruining the CPU.

It would be another crapshoot,.. your odds of getting a chip with strong IMC, able to run lower voltages with all core OC are better with the binned KS chips vs the retail K chips. My first 12900K was SP49, I thought it was an error or BIOS issue,.. I have never had that low bin chip in past three generations of Intel CPUs. Second 12900K was SP83, was a huge improvement but needed 1.37V for 5.4GHz all P-core OC. Last chip I bought is SP85,.. not the golden chip that I was hoping for. $800 is a lot for a crapshoot,.. I'm still on the fence deciding on pre-ordering the KS chip.

I'll have to look up KS ...been a bit out of loop.....just checked it out..... Kind of like that initial excitement that goes with the first round of "playing" with a new chip...the silicon lottery is like walking into a casino with high expectations.......

@braegnok I saw on the ddr5 thread that you bought the Corsair Dominator 6200MHz CL36 sticks. Can you confirm that they are Hynix? thanks....I saw on overclock that someone said they were. This is the sku cmt32gx5m2x6200c36 btw..they are in stock at best buy for msrp https://www.bestbuy.com/s...496081.p?skuId=6496081

Just a heads up...the Z690 Classy queue went live at 9PM PST(noon EST) on the dot. I got in pretty quick and was able to order the day of launch. I'm guessing it will be the similar, but jacob and evga usually post to twitter when the product sku goes live
