Hey guys. First post so this may not be in the right spot. That being said I just have a few concerns about my Z270 Classified K. First things first is the sound keeps having issues that require a restart. Issues include, garbled sound and sometimes it will decide to ignore the mixer. 0 on the mixer is off, and 1-100 is on - which I assume is 100% volume because it is insanely loud. Also, it doesn't seem like my processor is boosting properly. My i7 7700k just for whatever reason won't hit 4.5 Ghz properly, it seems to be hung up at 4.4. This is incredibly frustrating considering how much I paid for the board!

Another note - Last night it shut itself off. I saw one of the lights on the mobo blink. It kept everything in memory though. I turned it back on and all of my programs were still running. Never saw anything like that before. Maybe could have been a slight power failure, like a brown out.

Has anyone else had any of these problems? I updated to the 1.02 bios and it did not help at all.

Windows 10 Pro - Up to date
Drivers all up to date

specs:

EVGA Z270 Classified K
Intel i7 7700k
16 Gb Corsair Vengeance LPX
EVGA Geforce GTX 970 FTW
EVGA 750 watt SuperNova GL2
1tb Samsung 850 EVO

Any help or feedback on the issue would be appreciated!
Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you may have a power issue from your psu, do you have another one test with? Have you double checked all connections to make sure they are fully seated? Do have both 8pin cpu power cables connected?

try using bios and windows 10 power setting to turn off any sleep , Fast Startup ,hibernate settings
    and see if that helps

With SSD's the speed loss on boot/shutdown is low

then play with power setting later

The PSU is brand new. I checked all connections. Both 8 pin connectors and also the PCI-E connector are connected as well as the 24 pin for the motherboard itself. I've also monitored the voltages in the bios and nothing is wavering or looking out of the ordinary. Also I did turn off sleep, hibernate, etc in Windows already. That is typically one of the first things I do when I do a fresh install. That is why I'm quite stumped. The last thing I want to do is RMA the board.

Edit: I don't have another PSU that would work.

Your 7700K is operating correctly. It only achieves 4.5 on single core loads. It reduces to 4.4 when more than one core is utilized...

No clue. I haven't even hooked mine up yet. With my case (Thermaltake Core X5) they are impossible to hook up without an adapter. I haven't gotten around to buying the adapters yet.

My computer goes to sleep every 3 hours of non use. I've not noticed any of my USB acting up as I use all the ports on this pc all the time. I have the rear ones plugged into my phone to charge/sync etc. I use the front ones with USB sticks all the time.
