How do you update your bios if the usb ports are not allowing you to enter the bios?

Tried updating the BIOS on my Z170FTW today from 2.0 to 2.05 using the USB flash drive method as I've always done. Went into BIOS, reset to factory defaults, BIOS flash finished successfully, rebooted, and got Post Code 'C'. Tried powering down, removing power, and resetting CMOS to no avail. I've submitted a support ticket requesting a new BIOS chip. I'm really hoping I don't have to RMA the board.

It really is unfortunate when you follow the instructions to a 't', and you've done it successfully in the past, but your system still gets bricked. Oh well, I got a response from eVGA Support, and I should have a new BIOS chip in a few days. Needless to say my next motherboard, which will hopefully still be eVGA brand, will have more than one selectable BIOS. UPDATE 11/16 - New BIOS chip arrived with v2.05 pre-installed. Got it put in the mobo and I'm back up and running. It was in a boot loop, which lasted five cycles, but then it booted fine right to Windows. Not sure what that was about, but I'm glad to have my PC back.

get in touch with customer service they can get you an updated chip. then just put the updated chip in the motherboard and send the old chip to them. just make sure you register your motherboard.
