So I want to be an optimist and assume that EVGA will release a special bios update for the XC3 ultra hybrids.  Right guys?  RIGHT?!?

I think there might possibly be a difference in the XC3 Ultra Hybrid Bios. I was watching this video on youtube titled "Unboxing Evga XC3 3080 Ultra hybrid" (I cant post links yet due to not having enough posts) He shows gameplay at the end and his clocks are sustained at 2000+ which I cant achieve at all even with my XC3 Ultra with a waterblock and mine peaks at 47 C underload

Releasing a higher power limit doesn't make sense to me on the xc3 not because it's a bad card, but because it only has two 8 pins instead of 3 like the ultra and that the xc3's heat sink is significantly smaller. I guess you could buy a hybrid kit from evga to oc, but i don't think two 8 pins can draw that much power can they? I mean the pcie offers 75 watts what are the 8 pins 150 watts each? So about 375? 

Other cards (Gigabyte and Galaxy) have 390W limits.
80W from the slot and 155W per 8 pin (so 5W above spec)
The Galaxy card has the same VRM layout and cooler size.
The Gigabyte one has 1 extra phase and a worse cooler.

Then you have the 3090FE (it uses 2 plug 8pin pin adapter)
It pulls 75W from the slot and 162.5W per 8pin plug.

I dont expect they will release a bios tho since they are pritty firm on it.
No more then 150W per 8pin plug. And 66W on the slot as per the ATX PCI-E slot 12v edge connector spec.
The 75W spec people quote is 12V (66w) and 3.3V (9w).

This bios gives you XC3 guys the closes bios to 400Ws.
 
The problem? The fans are split. You will have two fan controllers, one controls the radiator fans and the other controls the single blower fan. 
 
How does that relate to that relate to the 3rd fan will have to be observed. I recommend someone play and synch the fans together and see if all 3 fans spin. If so, you guys have a a 400ish bios!
 
EDIT: Or it's possible the +8% is accounted for and that is 340W + 8% = 366W :(

I don't think thats accurate because my card is power throttles at around 320-330 Watts causing my core clock to drop down even with a waterblock

Yeah bro I would be happy if they just gave us the 375 watts that the FOUNDERS has and this card is within spec with 2x8pin + PCI slot.

I tried to get in touch with Jacob on Twitter today and he actually confirmed that there's no plan to increase power limit on the XC3 due to cooling and VRM solutions.
It sucks because I have great temps on my 3080 XC3 Ultra but the card just can't sustain 2.0Ghz under heavy load (sometimes not even 1900), and it's all because of the power limit. 320w is extremely restrictive, i feel like even a small bump into the 350-360 could be great for us.
I really hope they'll reconsider, I don't think an extra 40w would set my card on fire.

Yeah I have an xc3 ultra but under a hybrid kit, my temps don't seem to go higher than like 59c now, the card could give me a lot more
