Saw that there was a vbios here,  but some people were reporting issues with that vbios in another thread, with lower boost clocks and strange voltage behavior. Has anyone that has installed this vbios had no issues? I want to load it for correct fan profiles, but since I don't have a vbios updated to roll back and no dual vbios I'm afraid to do it given the reports here:

I had issues with the one Jacob linked (Post #11 in that thread), my boost clocks were much lower than the stock air XC3 Ultra BIOS and I also noticed the board would never consume more than 320W. With the stock air BIOS my card would consume at least 330 with peaks to 340W. This was at stock settings, no offset.

I switched back to the stock air XC3 Ultra BIOS and the boost clocks came back. Then I found the XC3 Ultra Hybrid BIOS version (94.02.26.88.92) on techpowerup that was said to be the same BIOS version that comes with a 3080 Hybrid from the factory (haven't been able to confirm this) and my boost clocks went back up to the stock air XC3 Ultra boost clocks.

Can anyone with a RTX 3080 XC3 Ultra Hybrid confirm what their factory BIOS version is?

Thanks, I would love to know this too. Did you use nvflash to flash that version? Any particular guide or thing that needs to be done?

Yes, I used NVFlash. I used the guide on this page https://www.overclock.net...0-owners-club.1753932/ click the second "Spoiler" button.

I tried it, It gave odd software readings on my card of 9V and 10V on the 12V rail which caused lower boosts.

What did you do? Revert or change to a different vbios?

Went back to the 1000W bios.
I just ran the hybrid bios to see if it would get better results then the stock one for more info for my zero to hero 3090 XC3 thread.
It was worse in every way.

So I flashed the 'official' vbios. Stock fan curves are much better. I do seem to be boosting slightly lower, but not by a huge margin, so I might stick to this vbios for now. Thanks.

I have uploaded my original BIOS   from RTX 30902ACX3 Hybrid  to Techpowerup. , so, it is possible, that you have  downloaded  BIOS  from me. If needed, PM me  and I ll send it to you.

Pretty sure the OP is using an RTX 3080 XC3 Ultra, 3090 BIOSes aren't gonna help.

I've reached the same conclusion that the vbios that Jacob provided is bugged. The techpower up seems to behave correctly.

Yea I've been happy with the version I referenced from techpowerup. I would still like to know what the BIOS version number for a 3080 Hybrid is from the factory.

Me too, I've tried pinging Jacob on Twitter about this but no reply. The techpower up vbios seems awesome, the card boosts even better than before, and it seems to run slightly  cooler too. I've only been running with it for today but I can already match my best benchmark runs, whereas previously I was getting lower scores.

Heres the difference between the update.exe for 3090 XC3 and the TPU factory XC3 hybrid.

I guess the question is more if the factory version is bugged. Are people reporting the same issue with their XC3 hybrids? If not, it would suggest that the might not have the same vbios.

    Its not the same bios.
Power limits have been shifted around.
    Vram power limit raised.
Update.exe is a version 1 bios (Based off FE code)
TPU one is a version 2 bios (Custom code for AIBs)

But why is update.exe a higher version number? And also, why is EVGA providing that one which is clearly bugged as the update for the hybrid kit for the XC3?

I just want to know if the factory 3080 Hybrid BIOS is the same 3080 Hybrid BIOS that is on techpowerup. There is no official 3080 XC3 Ultra Hybrid BIOS on that site, only the Unverified one. I want to know if the unverified one is the real factory one for the 3080 Hybrid.

The 3090 info is interesting, but it doesn't address the question about the 3080 Hybrid BIOS.

Jacob claims that the one from the updater is the factory one, I asked him on Twitter. But that would mean that the hybrid cards have issues from factory.

Also, the techpowerup vbios does not prompt for firmware updates in Precision X (the udpater.exe one did). Which might mean that we could lose out on potential firmware fixes in the future?

Bios is independant of firmware updates so wont make any difference.
PX1 polls the ICX MCU with I2C command on start up and pulls the version number of the firmware. Then checks the firmware folder if there is a higher version.
Aslong as your Bios has the EVGA product tag or your using the modded Libarary.dll Iv provided to unlock all cards for ICX i2c commands (here) then it will be no different.
I went over this more in the info on how to disable firmware updates in the PX1 forum since they seem to cause people more issues then they fix, And if it fails a update then your cards bricked.

Im sure they are aware of the issues in the update.exe bios since it use to be pinned with its own topic as well as having download links on the support page for the hybrid kit which got deleted.
Now you can only find the links in a post that got missed when they were removing the others.

I asked support 2 days ago and they pointed me to the same 'bad' vbios file, so I'm not sure they are aware.

MCU firmware is what controlls the fans custom profile (if you set one so it remains even with PX1 closed), LED stuff, Oled (if your card has it)
You can see the firmwares in "C:\Program Files\EVGA\Precision X1\Firmware"
And you can view what version you have on your card by clicking the icon next to PX1 version number.

I modded release day firmware to report 9.99 a long time ago on mine so it would reflash it over I think it was 6.01.03  and to prevent any further update messages after the pain in the ass the first update caused me back when I was on air cooler and it made the fans keep trying to stop and make a clicking sound.
