Hi,

Has anyone had success in using the Samsung 960 Pro SSD in the Micro 2 x99 board *without* having to switch on SSD compatibility mode S3/S4 in the BIOS? Thinking about a cheeky upgrade but am nervous about still being clock limited.

Thanks,
Ben.

NVMe 960 evo here as my boot drive. No issues.
I assume you're referring to the thing where overclocking BLCK causes PCI buss issues, but I'm just using stock 100 blck so I can't say if it works otherwise.

I'd just be sure that you can return it if it doesn't work.

Thanks for the response. That’s it, wanting to get away from the BLCK 100 limit.

I’ll double check the supplier’s policy on that.. hoping the drive is packaged in resealable packaging.
