Not expecting the FTW model but I'd at least like to have the option of receiving a non-reference model using the ICX fans. There are certainly non-FE models available for step up (as they were for the launch of the 1080 last year)

my gusse is they wont show up in step up tell they relase.I ended up just going for the fe my self as most likely the icx version will be more than the Fe this time around with nvidia removing the fe premium. If i end up bothered by the noise i will just buy the hybrid cooling kit when it comes out

If you are talking about the Hybrid kit.  It is listed already:

They will 99% sure not have any of the non reference cards on step up but they may release a reference pcb card with the ICX an/or the ACX cooler. But they won't have all the ICX's extra sensors since they are non reference PCB's. The best we can hope for will be an SC reference or ICX cooler on a reference PCB.

i would probably gusse the base icx if they do make one bellow black.I would gusse it will probably drop pretty close to the MSI armor price that got released . the SC black may be a bit more. Hard to say but I do expect the ftw3 to be in the 779+- area hard to really give a 100%. as the Nvidia premium getting taken away makes the base MSRP start at 699. If you have enough step up days to wait it out.then the base icx if they put one there may not be much more

yep that's what SC black is other than the dvi port reference board with just an icx cooler. That's why so Many people think it may show up.But even if it doesn't getting to step up at all is amazing

    Well this sucks.
Just got off the phone and basically it's a "wait and see" kind of deal. Good thing I have nearly 90 days left. I was told normally they only do founder's editions through step-up but I was able to get a normal 1080 with the ACX cooler back in 2016 the day pre-orders went up (which is odd since they're saying that they don't put up cards prior to release when that's how I got mine). Hope you guys have plenty of time left.

Woo pricing is impressive for pre order 699 for the SC black and only 749 for ftw3 where normal price is 769

Not looking good for reference ICX models.  There are 5 models in addition to the FE.  Of the five, one is reference design, but Overclocked.  Then all the rest are non reference designs.  I am beginning to think that EVGA is going to use the FE as the base card and the rest are "specialty".  Not expecting much more than what we see now.

When I talked to EVGA a couple weeks back they indicated they were not sure if any of the ICX versions would show up on step up yet, but was advised it wasn't likely.  The GTX 970 FTW+ was an exception to the rule for tech issues.

Hmm, I chose EVGA largely due to the step up option. I was expecting to be able to get the simplest/cheapest non reference cooler GTX 1080 Ti as a Step Up option. It would be a pretty stinky move no to include their highest end series in the step up program. :/

Overall though I am fairly well pleased with the reference cooler running at stock clocks. I would like the option of overclocking it down the road when I need that extra bit of performance, and the stock cooler would be quite loud if it came to that.

they never include there highest end card in step up . They do normally add a open air cooled stock clock card. But even the SC is an stock over clocked which they only add in rare occasions

Oh well, I can always add my own aftermarket cooler in a year or two if I feel the need to OC it. It reliably boosts to near 1900mhz out of the box, so I should be ok as is for awhile. The Arctic Accelero IV is affordable and should be good for a nice OC when it comes to that point.

Please add the SC Black edition to the step up list. :D Sorry for posting this same comment in multiple threads. I would just be thrilled if it were an option.

For me since I didn't choose to do a custom loop for my last couple upgrades, I just bought the EK Wb setup for qdc to connect to my ek predator. Should do a nice job and keep it good and cool to last until a new Ti or so.

I don't have any new information to add on Step-Up availability, but if you're trying to keep your hopes up, keep in mind that one of the key rules of Step-Up availability is just that:  availability.  Sometimes EVGA will put products up on the list at the time the cards launch, and others will show up some time later.  However, if there isn't much stock available of a certain model, then it's very likely that those models will not be put up on Step-Up until stock stabilizes.  I know that doesn't necessarily help those of you counting the remaining days (or hours) of your Step-Up window, but it's also an important rule of Step-Up.
