Come hear my 64 DBA CPU fan, and see how much you can tolerate it! Or go turn on a hair dryer on a medium setting, that should be roughly the same I think. But like you said, I do use circumaural headphones when gaming so it isn't a problem then.
+1 to circumaural, I used to use G35s but switched to the Corsair 1500 Vengeance and like them better once you configure the EQ. I say that because I use the H100 and the fans sit to the top left of my face. They're not known for being quiet. I barely hear them though once the GPU fans start cranking. But I barely hear the GPU fans when in-game. So, that's about ideal. I also have the rig in my "office/study" which is what grown men call a mancave so any estrogen enclaves in my home respect the demarcation line.
