I'm happy for it being a new member myself. But I could see people trying to take advantage of it. I just want to build my first PC and EVGA makes good cards.

It increases site traffic amd product visibility. Some people may not like it, but it breathes a bit of fresh life into the forums. Sure, there's some low-effort posting going on, but some of us new users are trying to make decent quality posts. It would be one thing if supply wasn't an issue, but at this point if you aren't lucky enough to already be sitting on an EVGA GPU you're out of luck. If you already have peripherals you're satisfied with it's a waste to buy your way in that way.

TLDR; Minor annoyance for some longer-time users, but all pluses for EVGA. I highly doubt any of their veteran customers are going to forgoe the EVGA 3080 ti queue over it.

I’m glad it’s only 100 posts instead of being tied to amount spent

It is nice to have a means to get elite status without buying something. Sure Twitch is an option but that is extremely limited also helps take the sting off when you bought EVGA in the past and your purchase was too old to qualify (was my $1200 not good enough in 2011?) :(

Hey you should be happy for others too, this is great step by EVGA as it draws many new members and they are contributing to the community, and new people are getting acquainted to all the hardware EVGA has to offer going through all forums. and this elite membership is great way to minimize scalpers, great steps by EVGA, other big names should follow this too

I mean, one of the main reasons I made an EVGA account is this offer.
Maybe I'll be able to get a new GPU, maybe not.. but EVGA has a chance to make new potential customers.

Hopefully it doesn't get abused, I personally don't feel like spamming messages just to get to 100. What's the point? Might as well have some fun and enjoy the forums.

I've had an account for a while, but found when I went to upgrade, my last EVGA card is the generation before the cutoff.  I had bought a 1660s last year, but EVGA never had in stock so I had to go with a Gigabyte at the time. At least they have this as an option.

If I have to guess, increase traffic to the site? You may end up buying other products while you browse the website.

It makes sense.  Gets people posting in the forums.  The traffic to the site is basically free advertising for them.  It also gets people lined up to buy GPUs from them.  It's a big win for EVGA if they can get a first time buyer into the brand and make them a re-occurring customer.

I can see how "OG" Elite members may see this as a dumbing-down of an exclusive membership rank, but as a new member I am glad that there is a way for normies such as myself to become elite members without having to spend $100+ for example. As many here said, the 100 posts method definitely helps to increase community participation and brand awareness

Wish I'd known about this earlier. Plus all my GPUs were all EVGA up until my current 1080ti. Figures right?

I think it's a good thing, though I kind of get why OG forum members would be upset. Then again, I'm definitely more interested in EVGA now that they're at least making some effort to give gamers a chance to grab a card... though that's just what it feels like. Who knows how much are just going to mass distribution (scalpers/miners). Time will tell.

Although the post count is low, just remember that it is still 1 card per household. So that means 1 card per address. Not unless scalpers will be paying their neighbors to use their addresses 😂

I think it's great they made the post count criteria for the Elite membership. Having to buy products to get access to an early bird queue is slimy.

They had to show somehow that we have an engaged community. Aren't we here discussing it?

I've had two EVGA cards yet neither were eligible. So here I am.

At least we can weed out people making a ton of accounts to get into queues.

I think it's a fair game to reward activity here in the forum. Nobody should make the illusion that this whole elite thing will guarantee a better supply for the account holders. I will scare off some of the easy folks but everybody really interesting in such a card will have a elite membership anyway, the one way or the other...

I only recently discovered about this elite membership, without it it's gonna be impossible to que for 3080ti/3070ti and im trying to get 100 posts myself now. It seems silly and i don't like it myself, would prefer those 5k twitch points, but at this point i doubt i can get 5k fast enough, gonna watch some evga twitch today and see, tho they'r livestreams are super short.

Still struggling with my old 970 :D
