Yeah, but the thing I'm confused about is how will it not just be the same problem... Like... will there be one wave of people buying it and it will be out of stock THEN you set up notifications for when it gets back in stock?

Unless NVidia bumped it launch should be Oct 29th. Once they sell out of the stock then autonotify will be available unless they start with autonotify queue system at launch since the 3080 and 3090 were such a distaterous launch.

Either way I'd watch for autonotify or purchase to become available in 5 days.

Top of the product page for Current 30 series GPU

Special EVGA 30 Series Orders Notice:
We have made some changes to the checkout process for EVGA.com 30 Series orders. Now we are using a queue based notification system.

To sign up, use the notification button on the product you would like to be notified for. For everyone who already used the notify button previously, you are already entered. Once product is available (and it is your turn to purchase), you will receive a secure email that will allow you to purchase the product that you received a notification for. Please note that you have 8 hours to place your order, if your order is not complete within 8 hours, the product will be released back into queue system.

Also note that your email address that was used for the notify system MUST MATCH an email that has a registered EVGA account, if an account is not available with that email, you will need to create one before you can purchase.

I'll add that I dont think competition to buy a 3070 will be there either.

    1. System builders will use them as a great selling point as it's the latest 30 series card they can actually acquire and turn a profit on. (Theu source direct, not via retail like us)

    2. Anyone running an RTX card doesnt gain much...even a 2060. All current games, even those like tomb raider that rely on raytrwcing wont show significant gains to warrant an upgrade.

    3. People with a 1080ti that dont need raytracing would have a hard time giving up the extra money for a slight performance bump in most games amd are likely holding out for a 3080, 3080ti, 3090.

Now the 3070 is a great card, and the 14gb ti model will offer a crazy mid range solution.
But the majority of high end gamers either own a 1080ti or RTX already and will hold out for a 3080+. Those wanting the 3070 are going to be systems builders wanting to advertise 30 series cards or those with a smaller budget that want new performance, and those that are running older gtx cards.
I'm not knocking anyone buying the 3070, I just highlighting that the market demand should not be as hard as with the 3080 or 3090 for launch. Now NVidia and or EVGA may not make as many 3070s for this reason, or they make more because it's really a sweet spot (the 70 series is usually always the best bang for the buck), only time will tell that.

Again sinc ethe 3070 isnt listed look for it to appear in the 30 series section on the 29th. The 3090s appeared under the 3080s during launch because they didnt even have a 3090 section yet on the site so just clock on 30 series and scroll through all of them in 5 days. If it's not there then the launch ch got pushed by NVidia...which does happen.

Re: When can we set auto-notifications for the RTX 3070? 2020/10/24 13:22:28 (permalink)
I wouldn't count on the notification solution EVGA implemented with the 3080's and 90's working a second time.  The only reason it worked for those was because botters didn't bother to hit the notify buttons.  Why would they when their bots work faster than any notification system would?  But now they are on to us!  I guarantee you that the moment a notify button appears for the 3070's, the hybrids, or any future cards, there will be thousands of bots who hit it before the rest of us even knows it's there, resulting in the same... uh... "shirtshow" that the rest of the 3000 series launch has been.

My hope is that EVGA is working on a better long term solution that they'll implement before the new cards hit.  What that might be, I have no idea.  All I know is that the notify system as it's currently implemented won't work at all for any new launches.

    Uhhhh....wut?
If it's at least as powerful as a 2080Ti like leaked benchmarks are showing, it will be a massive upgrade coming from a 2060. Something in the range of 50-60% depending on title and resolution.

And we already know that RT performance is greatly improved across the board with 3000 vs 2000 cards.

Looks likely notification system will go up on launch day at 6am pst on Oct 29th.

    Note on the queue system:
    1) even if bots get in, each order is reviewed through the queue system before issuing a custom e-mail link to purchase, so I don't think bots will be able to pull that off easily.
    2) forwarding addresses are invalid and will get the order/queue spot cancelled (as noted by other members in this thread a while back)
    3) account required to purchase
    4) e-mail must match what was keyed into the queue to the account
    5) 1 per household, per sku, per account, per e-mail.

Just looking at the requirements to get a card, I think that's enough stipulation that bots won't have an easy time trying.  Maybe someone is paying $$$ to the bot script maker to make sure they get their 1 spot in.  Not gonna work on multiples so it should keep the activity low, in theory and IMO.

Re: When can we set auto-notifications for the RTX 3070? 2020/11/13 10:27:28 (permalink)

-Go here. Follow the link on the first tab that pertains to the version you queued for: One of two links, either 3080/3090 or 3070.

-That link will take you to a form to fill out. It will ask you for a name. This doesn't matter what you pick. It is a way to, I guess, differentiate you from any other customer that may have queued at the exact same minute, on the day you did.

-You will choose what version you queued for, i.e. XC3 ULTRA, XC3 GAMING, XC3 BLACK, etc.

-You will also put in the time that you queued up for the card. ***An Important Note***  Go to the e-mail that EVGA sent you right after you queued for the auto-notify and use the time it says. Put this time in as Pacific Standard Time (PST), just as it should be displayed in the EVGA e-mail.

-Don't fill anything else out yet. The rest of the form is for when you get the actual e-mail that lets you purchase the card, when it notifies you that it has shipped, etc.

-Back on the spreadsheet, find the tab at the top for the card you are in queue for. Scroll down to the time that you entered for when you officially queued up. The rest is pretty self-explanatory.

***Remember, the list is only as accurate as more people that used auto-notify actually put their info in for this spreadsheet. Since we, as customers,  don't know how many total people signed up to use as a comparison to the number who signed up on the lists, the estimated date that you will receive your purchase e-mail should not be heavily relied upon. It is an estimate, at best. It can, and most definitely will, change from time to time because of more people adding their info to the list and people updating their info to show that they have purchased their card.

For instance, I signed up a few minutes after 7:00 PST on the release day for the 3070 (October 29th), and I have seen my expected purchase e-mail date jump from the middle of February 2021 to January 21 2021 and then back the other way to January 29 2021, all in a matter of a few days. Best advice I could give would be to stay vigilant, and always remember to check the spreadsheet and your e-mail. You never know if someone updates their spreadsheet info after their purchase, which, depending on where they were on the list, would severely change your expected date to a sooner time.

Sorry, I guess they don't allow posting of links, at least not yet for me, since this was my first post. Google the words 'reddit evga spreadsheet' and you should be able to find the reddit post with the link to the spreadsheet on google docs from there.
