In the meantime, Cutesoft has given me their latest version to run.  I have a version currently running on one of my servers and I will be installing the newest version in the next couple days.  Drop in and chat at my server in the meantime.

Lets get this thing working!

It would be nice to get an answer on exactly why it's not working.

A few questions:

• Is it just simply looked at like a corporation would look at it? Simply that it will cost money and it's not worth it to repair the chat because it does not gain revenue?

I'd hope not on this one, because that is not a formula for innovation. Since we have seen a forum like no other here... Which a chat off of the forum can be looked at in the same way.

• Is the company looking at cutbacks?
• Does the chat cause issues for EVGA?

 
Simple things like this can look bad when members are willing to put the time and effort, maybe even donations towards repairing a chat feature that was offered for free by you guys.

 
bolded part, yes it does cause issues for evga actually.  we have mods that sit in there round the clock because the spammer knows its an easy target.  Us normal people just have to put up with the insane number of messages posted till a mod or one of evga's employees happens to see it.  We have also found a few exploits in the software in the past that were relatively simple for shane to fix(one i stumbled upon that actually totally crashed it).  There is another exploit that i think has actually been fixed in newer versions of the software as i tried it on skydives chat which runs a newer version and it didn't work.
There are also issues with the way the web servers load balance from what i have been told in the past, and sometimes those changeovers would totally make the chat room barf and we would have ot wait for shane or one of there techs to actually go reset the chat room.
 
With that said, find another software if that be it and get it in place for us please!  we are geeks we will find problems with anything you use, but in the case of the image exploit and the character exploit i had found a while back, it actually probably made the software more secure.  better a trusted member figure it out and point it out for EVGA to fix themselves or go back to the original company to get it fixed than the spammer who could really cause problems for them down the road.  Matter of fact, i sent shane a PM shortly after figureing out he image one and how to fix it really easily so that it could be fixed really quickly before people got it shut down.

I'm sorry, but as I mentioned before, we have no solid ETA.  We understand that some of you really want this feature back, however our programmers are working on several important projects at the moment.  In the mean time, I would suggest you all choose one of the servers that has been set up by forum members as a temporary home.
