just to back up moose's point, we have about a dozen people come in a week looking for help, most of them new chat members and 80% of the time they leave with an answer, the other 20% we send them straight to the EVGA phone line

btw EVGA I manged to make you $350+ by recommending an EVGA GTX 570 classified to a person, explaining how it would perform better than  his current card, showing him benchmarks, telling him about your warranty, etc. Keep that chat, its make you money and lets me troll Shane and Nordic  and gets me trolled by Shane and Nordic

Problem with IRC over cutechat is it would be a bit more of a pain for people looking for assistance to just drop in and ask, as most of the web based IRC clients that i've come across have been pretty poor. Would be awesome for the chat regulars like us though...

IRC is a carryover from the early 90's pre-graphical web days where linux hackers would design a chat application with the ugliest /command syntax. I use IRC out of necessity to keep in touch with some of the people I knew back then, but I would never willfully wish IRC on the average internet user. You'd create more problems than you'd solve by having an IRC chat for help.

is this one of those things where a company says their closed for renovations but in reality went out of business? OR are you actually looking to improve the software (fix the issues) and let us have it back?

IMO all it would take is just upgrading the cutechat software, that image exploit was something the developer of that software should have known about as its such a trivial security hole in any websites, heck i protect against that particular exploit on my own hobby website.........

As mentioned above, we do not currently have an ETA.  We are trying to find the best solution possible and that takes time.  In addition, our programmers are currently working on major project.  We do want this for the community and we appreciate your patience.

I am hosting a very temporary chat room, max of 5 users on the trial license.  So far i like it, might be a suggestion for EVGA, its called realChat, has moderated mode as well which is a plus for you guys.

Out of curiosity, I was searching on some of the chat software as well and came across this one which I am tempted to buy a license for and run on one of my servers to try it out.  Not a big investment or anything, so what's the harm.  Is EVGA evaluating / considering this one as well?
