I have many stories of how bad USPS has got over past few years....
 
THey lost a sale package I sent from EBay for over a month only 1 state away.  So Ebay made me refund the guys money & then he got the item later....
 
2 other times , items have been stuck in California for almost a month..lost ?... then finally magically appear. ?
 
I have read many news stories claiming due to Covid / loss of employees / they have warehouses piled full of tractor trailers full of mail to process --

In summery 8 days to go 170 miles and zero updates between Albany and Saratoga.

I've had USPS take over a month to get a Priority Mail package to me and a lot took over two weeks. This is not to say FedEx and UPS have been perfect, but max past day of delivery with them has been two days. I dread when I see something has been shipped USPS right now. Has not always been that way, but this last year has been terrible.

Placed an order 12/14, shipped USPS, received 1/20.
 
Thought maybe seller was jerking me around, so I ordered identical item 12/28, shipped FedEx, received 1/5.
 
USPS package did not go on a circuitous route, according to tracking. It simply did not move for a month.

All humans make mistakes.

It's not quite a human issue, it's a infrastructure issue. USPS was never meant to be a package delivery company, at least not for the degree they have been pushed to with people ordering more online right now because of the pandemic. USPS was never set up to take on this type of package delivery volume.

I just had an i7-5960x sit in Albany for 8 days.
It flew in from Houston TX and needed to rest a bit.
Or it had to quarantine for a while.

Would not surprise me one bit. I purchased a Band flag through the bands website from Atlanta and it made it to jersey within 9 hours then no updates for 2 weeks until I see it left Houston. It then zigzagged from Illinois to Florida and then finally made it to Kingston which is 20 minutes away.  Two days later it was in Massachusetts It got to me a week after that.
I was going to hang the flag in the windows of the hotels I stayed in along the tour. I finally received it after 6 and a half weeks and the package looked like it went through a lawnmower. The contents were fine thankfully. It has since been flattened out thanks to my wife

I have been reliant on e cigs to help me quit smoking, and I ordered a bunch of replacement pods on December 4th across two orders.  On December 9th both orders were received at the USPS facility in TN.  On December 17th the tracking numbers showed the packages were still in the original facility with no movement.  On December 31st same story.  I received the packages on January 11th and they were still showing as having never left the original facility in TN.

Living in FL I will tell you the most USPS locations are **** shows... constantly bad apples not being fired doing bad stuff, higher ups when they do like a type of inventory they send all the mail to a warehouse and it just sits to "hide it out of the way". Think I heard something on the news a good days to week ago, there was some big investigation because of mail being just stored in a warehouse somewhere in our state. It may be longer though... Who knows. Also try go with if a seller allows UPS or FedEX they at least have their own planes that are going no matter what.

Late June / early July 2020 I ordered some shipping supplies from the online USPS store - specifically, a Global Express Guaranteed Shipping Kit as I had some legal documents I needed to send overseas. Each kit contains 5 sets of envelopes, mailing labels, customs declarations etc. etc.). USPS advised that delivery should be 2-4 business days - usually it's 2 days, but they advised slight delays due to coronavirus, which is fair enough. BTW, their website still says the same lead time even today.
 
A week passed, I checked my USPS account and the order showed online as processed, but there was no delivery, so I ordered again. Same thing happened, so I ordered again. And again. And again. And again. And again. After maybe 12-15 orders I gave up and walked to a business a couple of miles away and got it sorted out through Fedex - I had to do it in person because they needed customs forms signed and special envelopes etc. that I didn't have at home (which is why I was ordering them from USPS in the first place).
 
The USPS supplies never showed up so I just forgot about them. There was no option to cancel the orders, and the USPS website said they had already been processed anyway, so whatever. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
 
Last week - this is now 7 months later - I get an email saying the shipping kit is on the way and I should have it in 1-2 days. Seriously. Then I get another email saying the same thing. Then another. Then another. Then another... LMAO. So that was last week. Guess what? Nothing has turned up at all. Smh. I don't need them now anyway, but wow, USPS seriously needs to get their ship together.
 
I expect the supplies will turn up one day a few years from now completely out of the blue. :D

Ordered on Nov still to see them arrived (USPS)
Ordered an exhaust Dec from a place no further than 60miles away
Still hasn't arrived also (UPS)
I'm not gonna order much really at this point
I sold a few parts and luckily they arrived on time (USPS flat rate)
