I got my card today. HW Info seems reliable - base power target pulled right around 380. 0.85 power target drops it down to around 325w.

This whole ftw3 release is really shady this gen. Inconsistent info, 420w 400w this capacitor...that capacitor lol.
No actual proper review anywhere and have to beg to spend hundreds of dollars to get one on top of it all.
The only reason I'll he getting one is customer service and step up.

EVGA stated that its 420W. Now its not. False advertising. EVGA 3080 FT2nd place ultra lol Whatever. It's still a good card.

It is measured. It has been proved. It SHOULD BE a 420 watt card according to what was promised by Jacob. The table markuaw1 posted is what is CURRENT. It is currently a 400 watt card. It shouldn't be a 400 watt card. We agree on that. But it IS a 400 watt card CURRENTLY. And that is what the table shows. The table shows the CURRENT power limits for various cards. How we get from point A to point B is dependent on EVGA. Owners are waiting. EVGA has been "looking into this" for a few days. When will it be resolved?

Well I'm hoping that the silence is just due to the weekend and indicates that they are actively doing some investigating to find out what's going on. Jacob mentioned on Twitter that his card read out 417w, but as far as I've seen, no owners of the 3080 FTW3 actually reported anything approaching that. My own testing gave my single highest reading as 404w in GPU-Z, but that was an outlier and the average was typically in the 390-400w range. Maybe he had a pre-production BIOS on his or something, but I'm hopeful we'll get a response soon now that we've started up the work week.

Shouldnt have to pay such a premium for a 3080ftw3 now. Until the update to 420w it is false advertising
Also, we were promised a way to alter red lipstick. I wonder if its just the bait and switch. Say whatever just to get the actual sale and then who cares.
The reality of the situation:
The card runs hotter than the strix
The card has a worse pcb than the strix
The card has a worse bios with lower power limit compared to the strix
The card has no waterblocks available currently, unlike the strix
The card is objectively worse looking, with red accent lips (at least do green for nvidia red is literally AMDs color
The card has an inferior cooler
The card doesnt sync with motherboard rgb, unlike the strix which does
The card released with an inferior capacitor layout, which they had to rectify immediately, unlike the strix
This card is worse in every way. The problem with the strix is it's unavailable and the most rare of the bunch. I know I'm going to get some flack for this considering its EVGAs forum and I still plan to get the FTW3 as my place in line is coming up, but be objective here. It's worse
They are ruining their reputation with the lower bios. Give us the 420w as promised.
The FTW3 has premium street credibility but Asus is destroying them this gen. I ignore many brands. Zotac? Colorful? I gloss over those names immediately based off reputation. Dont make it so we gloss over the ftw3 and wait for the big boy strix in the future. Put some respect back in the name of the FTW3
