i had this happen to my 670 ftw's but it wasent the full screen it was just one small part in crysis 3  on a certain level it only happened.
it would only pop up on the right side of my screen only a half inch from top to bottom. and also it would only happen if i used MSAA.
TXAA,FXAA and SMAA worked fine it was just with MSAA?
it was with older driver's i think it was the 314.xx when i had this problem around the time when crysis3 first came out. i have since then updated my drivers and put my cards under water and i have never seen this again.

I might try and fit it in my budget see if I can get some extra hours or something. To make up for it but we will see my last post was forwarded to the rma department.

I check for driver updates every 2 weeks.

Or maybe il just cancel my ps4 preorder and sell the replacement for a 780 if I use up all my options and don't like how it's resolved.

I run my cards with a +600 offset on the ram, +451 does not seem very excessive

Well take that 4gb card bud, a 680 should not crash a 69c. It wont start throttling until 70cish

But see I don't want a 4gb card I would rather have a fast 2gb card if eliminating my browser is all I need to do I have no problem with it.

Man these memory OCs are super high...

I run my mem at a constant +600... It helps me so much with my minimum frames...

I dunno man, seems sky high.  I know a few people that used to own 680 Lightnings was pushing 1000 memory offset, but after a month or so they had to drop too +600, and even lower.

-shrugs- I have no idea. All I know is I get a massive point boost in Valley when I go from +0 to +600, not to mention there is an FPS increase in games as well. Mostly on the lower end.

Also, my card is a 2GB card, and I know the 2GB models OC much more then 3GB.

Pretty sure smashtic is referring to the screenshot you posted. Looks a bit like it's raining something fierce.

+450mhz is not super high.

I run 1300/7500 and never break 40c, though I am watercooled.

75/450 on air cooling/stock voltage does sound like a decent bit though?  But every card is different.

Anyways the 4gb card they gave you is a massive upgrade over the 2gb card you had so I don't know what you're complaining about.

I can see why the op is upset he paid for a card with all the bells and whistles upgraded pcb, more phases, able to handle more overclocking than a vanilla card, way better cooling with the vapor chamber, a cherry picked binned 680 chip, then handed a card with just 2gb more vram, without the beefy pcb, no extra phases, no superior cooling, not a cherry picked binned 680 chip. I do agree he has the right to be upset.

I lean toward this view as well. I don't know if the 2gb vram will hit the wall any time soon, though I bought the 680 4gb ftw card just to be sure. Personally, I am not that impressed with the alleged cooling properties of the vapor chamber system, but I do admit that others seem to see good temps. Mine are no better than the 580's I replaced it with, in a HAF 922 case, and I have things set up fairly aggressively with Maniacvv's valuable assistance. meh.

EDIT: To clarify, I mean that I think the OP is right to be a bit concerned that the replacement is a vanilla card, even with my experience. All cards are different, and are in different setups.

If I remember correctly the evga 580 also had a vapor chamber on it also

OP honestly I think you need to take this issue up with higher management. Personally I think your right, and have every right to complain. Here are some emails of people you may want to contact asap a FTW 2gb going to a vanilla 4gb is more of a low-side grade a lower quality gpu.

No offense, I know it's a pain in the ass, but if the card is discontinued then it's discontinued, it's possible they just don't have any to give out for RMA's. The reality of the matter is the difference between those cards isn't *that* much. Over the next 2 years you'd be glad of having 4GB VRAM. If it really bugs you, just take the 4GB card, and sell it. It'll sell for way more than any 2GB card anyway. Then get a 780.

well as I said earlier in the thread if I wanted a 4gb card I would have bought one I don't buy a high level card to sit on it for 4-5 years. I buy a new one every 1.5-2 years depending on gains made on the new generation. To me there is a decent amount of differences lower core clock, lower mem clock, no vapor chamber, no 8 power phases, and not a binned card .... I paid money for a nice card I shouldn't get a dumbed down card on rma ....

If they don't have 680 ftw's anymore, ^^^ this is what i'd be asking for as a replacement.  A closer cousin than the ref 680. Either that or ask them to accept the return as a hefty down payment on some kind of 780.
