I think it is the flagship. It's what they really expect people to rush out and buy so it's what will be pushed the most. The 3090 isn't supposed to be really the flagship but rather a limited interest product made to sell in limited numbers compared to the much more affordable 3080.

When's pre-order, 3080 is very, very tempting. Funny that I sold my radeon VII for more or less the same price recently, strange buyers.

where are the 8k monitors????????
 




I am really more interested in the 4K gaming monitors. 8K would take sitting several feet away to notice a difference as at the standard 24"-27" most computer screens sit away you wouldn't notice the difference between 8K and 4K.




try a 40in or 55 inch monitor
 
really yes you can see the pixels = so 8k i would notice

Yeah exactly what I was wondering.. because it appears to basically be the new Titan.
 
..and if it's NVidia store only, will EVGA make an AiO cooler for it? Took near on a year of pleading for EVGA to push one out for the Titan X Pascal, but it was definitely worth the wait.

With Asus already announcing a 3090 card I am guessing EVGA will also have one as well.
 
On a side note I looked and the 3070 and the 3080 do not list SLI. The 3090 is the only product NVIDIA lists that has SLI support so unless people are willing to spend $3000 on two 3090's it's safe to say SLI is dead.

So they can't make the 3080 ti faster than a 3090 right?  Does that mean they will just do a 3080 super with faster mem and faster gpu clock?

Thats actually just the 3090 TUF edition. no NVLink on 3080 but there's 2 models for the 3090.

Keep in mind that's "twice as fast while running RTX under a full moon".  In everything else it's probably slower than a 2080 Ti.

With RTX and DLSS on of course.... even still,  like I stated early prices are good due to the cheaper Samsung process. Nvidia is using TSMC 7nm for their more expensive compute cards to save power, AMD is of course using TSMC for their upcoming RDNA 2 cards so even though I absolutely believe Nvidia will have the performance crown though the gap will be closer, AMD will likely have the more efficient card this round.

Great time to buy a used 2080 Ti.  They will be firesaled in the next two weeks and then prices will rebound when ampere doesn't live up to the hype and has glitches.

Presumably a reference to the movie BFG - Big Friendly Giant. Loved that movie btw.
