Should I leave it on smart? Just realised it is the loudest fan. But you cannot set it per VRM temps, actually the mobo has no sensor anyway.

    Depending exactly on which X299/BIOS you have, there may be a BIOS update for that if you have an older BIOS now.

    I know for the Dark, FTW K and Micro ATX there's Update 1.07 in the EVGA Download Center that says "Improves smart fan speed control" but I have no idea what that's all about..All subsequent updates should include that too.
