Hello Everyone, First of all, Happy New Year! May your 2022 be significantly better than your 2021. We won't even mention that year between 2021 and 2019. With that out of the way, EVGA has made some changes to the Extended Warranty program (link to EU Version). None of these changes affect already purchased extended warranties. If you purchased a valid extended warranty for your product prior to this update, it will not change. Here are the biggest, and only, changes to the Extended Warranty: - 10-Year warranties are no longer available. Warranties may be extended to 5-Year (+2) and 7-Year (+4) lengths.
- There are several new pricing tiers for graphics card and motherboard products based on MSRP.
- Prices have gone up.
The main question most of you will ask is why this change? The Extended Warranty program has been around for a very long time (over 8 years!) and prices have not changed, nor have new pricing tiers been added, despite the significant increase in graphics card and motherboard prices over the years. For that reason, the Extended Warranty program was one of the best bargains you could purchase in both value and for peace of mind. Although the prices have increased, we believe this still to be a great value and peace of mind for the future. The terms and conditions have also been updated, but besides the more legal-looking layout and legal-sounding sections, the terms haven't changed in spirit or substance. If anything, several parts of the program are explained more clearly and/or in-depth as requested by both our customers and Customer Service team. We want to emphasize that this is (1) available only to the original purchaser of an eligible product, (2) that the product must be purchased from an authorized reseller, (3) and that the extended warranty will not transfer to a second-hand owner. Those requirements seem to cause the most confusion and lead to a lot of CS calls and support tickets. If you wish to review the EVGA Extended Warranty page, please click the link above for your region. If you have additional questions, please feel free to ask below.

Since I plan for the long term use of my systems for a reason, I, like RJ, think this is still a good investment. I will continue to purchase the extended warranty with new products.

Thanks for the heads up about the price change. Guess my 3090 gonna cost a bit more to warranty . Microcenter warranty not looking too bad now.

I was shocked how cheap the warranty was on the 3080Ti and 3090. Given the cost of doing business in the 20s, I'd say its about time.

Of particular note is that the price has been the same for eight years. Off hand, I can't think of anything I buy that has gone that long without a price increase. Despite that, we will probably have a lot of complaining about this.

Nice price bumps for customers who purchase the higher end products.

This raises the serious concern of remembering to register your card within 14 days of purchasing it if you intended to take advantage of "Step Up'. Currently if you don't register the card within 14 days of purchase you are required to buy the extended warranty to enable Step Up. With these borderline predatory price increases on the higher end cards that could be a serious slap in the face if something were to delay the arrival of your card like shipping.

You have to wonder how much of a financial squeeze the supposed "less than 1%" of EVGA 30xx series RMAs created in order to trigger this re-assessment of their extended warranty policies.

If we just purchased a product in December but hadn't yet added the extended warranty (because I thought I had 90 days!) are we stuck with the higher prices?

The new cost makes this a 'no buy' from me.....but to be fair, it hasn't changed since it started, and it probably should have on a yearly basis.

At the present time, they are the same: https://eu.evga.com/warranty/extended/. So by today's rate of $1.US = .88€ you have a better deal in the EU.

I'm very disappointed not in this change, but in the way it was implemented. I fully support EVGA pricing their extended warranty model in a way that makes financial sense. What I don't support is they way they implemented this change quietly with no notice given beforehand. I chose EVGA over other brands because I intend to use this build for a very long time and I wanted to put a 10 year warranty on it. Due to holiday business in general I didn't get a chance to do so until today where the options are now only 7 years and are far more expensive. I wish they would have at least grandfathered the pricing for cards purchased before January 1st as that pricing was taken into consideration at the time of purchase. I see no real reason to go EVGA next time around as the one thing that made them stand out from the crowd is no longer there.

Yeah, it feels a little like a bait and switch. The terms of the warranty were different at the time we purchased our cards and there was no notice that our 90 day period was going to change. I don't need a full 90 days at the old warranty prices, just give me a one week warning before the prices go up so I can decide whether to make a purchase on the same terms that existed when I bought the card in December. While I also choose EVGA stuff in part because of the great warranty and RMA support, if I'm honest I still would have chosen to purchase the card when my queue came up even if I knew I would lose out on the extended warranty, just because GPUs are still so scarce. But it does feel sketchy.

While I am sad to see the 10 year option removed, I can understand why it has happened. As for the prices, I was always shocked by how cheap the extended warranties had been for so long, so I am not surprised to see a substantial price increase. For those that few slighted because EVGA didn’t give you warning, this has always been the closing lines. It is unfortunate that the changed happened, but companies must adapt with time, and EVGA has been relatively the same (in these terms) for a long time: Extended Warranty EVGA reserves the right to change the terms of the Extended Warranty program at any time without notice. EVGA reserves the right to cancel the Extended Warranty program at any time and for any reason. VOID where prohibited.

That didn’t change. Extended warranties have never transferred, so that has no effect on the secondary market. Well then, the forums didn’t load all of the replies above, lol, even though they were here well before I commented.

I'm in the same boat. Bought a 3080ti before the holidays and put a reminder on my schedule to buy the extended warranty after christmas. Logged in today to do it and saw the changes. Not cool. I think they should've given enough notice to cover new purchasers during their window to extend.

Oh damn I'm in the exact same boat as some of you. I had planned to purchase the extended warranty for my 3080ti after the holidays and logged in to make the purchase only to see the price increase. Really sucks that there wasn't a notice before hand for those that were able to purchase their card before the new year. I'm still going to purchase the extended warranty since I plan to have this GPU for a while and want to be sure I can keep using it. :(

I'm in the same situation as people have mentioned... I purchased and registered my card with the intention of purchasing an extended warranty after the Holidays. Definitely would have appreciated a heads up that this change was coming as I probably won't get the warranty now with the increase.

I purchased a 3070 FTW Ultra on Dec 30, 2021 with the intention of getting the 60 dollar 10 year warranty immediately after arrival. I couldn't do it until the card arrived because I didn't have the serial numbers off the card. The card arrives on the 6th, I go online to register it, and they apparently took out the 10 year and jacked all their prices up with no notice. Policy changes should be based on purchase date. This is a horrible business practice and should be changed to be based on purchase date.
