Well, I think if in this site I can find the two vbios versions from my graphic card, is because you can choose what version use, and if not, why you can find differents versions of vbios in this site? What would be the meaning if it is not for downloading?

Yes, you understand correctly, only the fan curve, so, I think it is not necesary if you make your own manual fan curve

Did you read the first post? You should be able to find your answer there. Hint: BIOS version numbers are written in the links and there is a link to a thermal mod page which has a search tool where you can type the card's serial number to view its thermal mod status.

Thank you for this!!! I was going crazy trying to adjust the fan curve of my GTX 1060 SC 3GB because it was idling at 49~52 degrees Celsius, and found out about this new vbios. Upgraded it and now it makes the fan run @ ~150 RPM on idle which is cooling it gradually :) Edit: It just stopped now in Idle @ 48 Degrees. Edit2: Weird that the card didn't have this update, i bought it on November 2017... x_x

HELP!!!! I've updated the firmware of my card to one that EVGA support sent me on a Ticket, and now when i restarted it, the screen goes black!!! The Firmware stated that it will have the fan always on for lower temps, but now it has just killed it. I have a EVGA GTX 1060 SC 3GB I already opened a support ticket but haven't received a response yet!

Try reflashing the card using a spare gpu. Using the cpu's igpu to reflash would work as well.

Thanks for the recommendation, but it didn't work... when the GPU is installed on the motherboard the pc it turns on, but doesn't show anything on screen, doesn't even display the MSI bios screen, neither boot into windows. I've disconnected the GPU from the MB and connected the HDMI to the integrated port and it boots up the OS correctly, so i think the issue is with the GPU (the firmware installed 6162K270.rom), despite the fact that it does turn on and the fan ramps up when first started just doesn't show anything on screen. I've already contacted live support and they initiated an RMA process i'm hoping it gets approved because GPU failed immediately after the firmware was updated. Sajin

With the gpu completely removed from the system go into the motherboard bios using the igpu, and make sure the igpu is setup to have display priority over pci-e. Shutdown the system and install the gpu. Leave monitor cable connected to the igpu. Boot the system, and you should be able to access windows & reflash the card.

On the back of the card does it list the original vbios version? If yes, please tell it to me. Should look something like this... 86.06.11.00.62 If the reflash fails I'll try and help you restore the original vbios, but I'll need to know the original vbios version to help you with reflashing the original vbios.

Ok, thanks. Let me know if the reflash fails to correct the problem or not. Or you could try using this file to restore the original vbios right away.

It loads no problem without the GPU connected,
When the GPU is connected it loads the repairing menu... but after repairing and going to normal windows screen goes black
Something is happening to windows when the GPU Is installed...
I’m gonna try ti run a recovery or get a windows live USB

Sounds like a driver issue now. I'd make sure the nvidia drivers are uninstalled.

Hi again sorry, had to let that a couple of minutes because of work.
Yes!! The pc finally is running like it should again, i will be doing some tests before calling the GPU as being good; because i did a benchmark really quick with furmark and is running hotter than before using some profiles :-/ so i dont know if it suffered damage internally,
Thank you very much for all your help!!! :D
Will report back!

No problem. I doubt the card is damaged. The gpu die itself can take up to 96-98c at which point it will shut itself down to prevent damage.
