kstrong2008 I’m right there with you guys. I’m not on the list but if I was, I would be 579. Hoping I’m in the next drop!! Wonder if they are gonna wait until after the 14th so the next drop has to start paying the higher amount. Oh well, still worth it after this long of wait
I honestly don't think EVGA would do that. They didn't have to hold the prices for those in queues. They didn't have to have a step up program either. They could put less cards into the step up program if they wanted. The reasons could go on and on. I'm pretty sure most people would prefer to see more cards going to the queues or step ups, but atleast they have these options for the end users. I really don't think they are holding back any cards, and if they do release them after I actually would give them them the benefit of the doubt. Atleast the price increases are not like Asus or MSI if it matters.

The price when you enter the step up is not a quote. It is an estimate based on the info you entered. Price changes can and will occur if you were not in the step up program prior to the increases and are not finished with your step up before the price increase deadline. You can look at your step up request and it will show that it is an estimated amount. Even the amount you entered as what you paid as credit toward your new card will be changed unless you entered the actual MSRP less taxes and shipping.

Can you give me an example to this. Aren't you suppose to use the actual MSRP which is quoted on the site when you paid for it? EVGA would know otherwise. So how much is the 3080 ftw3 going up now? Geeze I should've just paid the scalpers back in November at this point.

Geeze I should've just paid the scalpers back in November at this point.
When I entered my 3070 FTW3 back in January, I paid 730 for it plus tax. It came out to around 760 after taxes. I entered the pre-tax amount since the receipt is also used to very purchase for warranty. So when I stepped up, I used that amount and it showed on the estimate initially as a 730 credit toward my step up. When I got to step two, it went under further review and that's when it was adjusted to the MSRP of 680. I bought my card from an authorized reseller, and EVGA honored my warranty and step up once it was reviewed. The MSRP of the card when you complete your step up is what you will pay. There are some in the step up queue that got in before the price increases, and if you are one of those time is running out to pay the "grandfathered" price prior to the price increases in January. If you don't finish your step up prior to that date which EVGA extended once already, you will be paying the EVGA MSRP for your new card minus what they credit you for your old card plus shipping from EVGA to you and your local tax amount. If you bought your original card from EVGA and registered for the step up, I don't think you need to upload your receipt. When I completed my step up to the 3090 and registered for the warranty, i didn't need to enter upload a receipt. I just selected that I got the gpu from EVGA.

Corsair 1000 would give you a little more headroom to handle power spikes/draw from the GPU. Don't know what else you got in your system, but if possible 1000 watts is a little safer. 1000 watt psu are getting harder to find, so if you can find a good one like the corsair 1000 gold at a decent price then I'd say go for it. Prices on these aren't going to get any better, if anything worse with component shortages not ending anytime soon imo. A good psu can last you a while, but if you get the minimum then you might need to upgrade or replace sooner depending on what you do with your system in the future. I was looking for a 1000 watt psu when I was upgrading for my new gpu but I couldn't find anything and with the price point being about 80 bucks difference between the 1000 and the 1200 I went with the 1200 since it was available at my local store, 10 year warranty, platinum rated, and another plus was that it was an EVGA model so the customer service should be good if it's ever needed.

Yes, the current prices are what's on EVGA's website's products pages. It's not as bad as other sites and if you are able to get them at or near MSRP it's a great deal considering the market out there right now. But if you signed up before I believe January 11, 2021 they would grandfather the original price until the cutoff date which is coming up very soon. I don't recall the exact dates, but I know the sign up deadline was around mid January and the cutoff date was extended to mid May. It was supposed to end in April.

Wait, so I bought my GPU on 10/2/2020 and was grandfathered in but they have a cutoff date that I won't reach due to their inability to provide me with my StepUp in 7 months? How much more will we have to pay for the 3080? What will the new MSRP be? I know it will be cheaper than scalpers but it feels like EVGA is about to scalp me lol. Does anyone know if we are getting GPUs with the HRL? That will pull the resale value down if so. Common EVGA! We are the customers that paid you first we should be a priority. Bad form!

The price increases are what's currently listed on the product pages. I signed up on 10/1 for the 3080 FTW3 Ultra and at the time the price was $809.99. So the price for that card will increase by $80. I paid a premium for my 2080S HC so for me it's only a $10 price increase but for others it's quite a bit more. Kudos to EVGA for holding out this long on the price increases.

If you go Coolermaster dont get that series, go for the V series and id preferably move to a 1000 watt unit so you have room for add ons while keeping your efficiency and unit longevity. Do not get a Bronze psu from anyone to run highend gpu's and the rest of your kit, not a good idea. After NZXT's case debacle i wouldnt trust anything they touch with electronics in it myself, but you can use them if you like. A Seasonic gold unit would be a better pick.

I agree that while EVGA felt that it needed to increase prices, it didn't do it to the same extent as the other AIBs. They also tried to hold the price for those who they could provide cards to. The prices they show in the step up is an "estimated" price. It is not a quote or an invoice nor had they taken any money from you at the time of sign up. The step up program is a customer friendly program that allows you to trade in your gpu and msrp credit toward a newer gpu. Also sharing from my experience is that if you had to pay a "premium" to get your original gpu, they only credit you the MSRP that EVGA lists as credit toward your step up card. This has been hashed out before in these threads. I thought I would get a full 830 credit toward my step up since that is what my receipt showed and was entered into the system. When I got to step 2, the credit amount was adjusted to the msrp at the time of purchase which was 780. I was lucky as the price over MSRP wasn't too bad. My friend who bought a card couple of weeks after me had to pay a 100 over msrp which wasn't credited to his step up so basically he lost that. EVGA doesn't have to have this program, but I do wish they would provide more cards to the step up program rather than Linus' preferred gamers program. This is a great program to reward brand loyalty, but the demand has been so high especially for the 3080 that it can't be met. The other step ups queues are catching up, but with the best balance of power/price the 3080 just seems to be destined for this backlog for the life span of this generation. With all these new 3060's coming out, those are people could very well be adding to the step up log jam in the 3080s. FYI, based on the threads the 3070 and 3090 step ups are within a couple of months of registration based on user shared info.

It's really surprising how many people think EVGA should just absorb a cost increase they have no control over.

That isn't how business works as we know. If it costs them more to produce a card then it only is fair that we pay our share. EVGA is the only manufacturer even doing a StepUp type of program I believe so I'm just happy to not be buying off of eBay. I might not buy another brand in my life because of how good EVGA products are and things like SetpUp. This 3080 10GB StepUp from my 2070 Super FTW3 Ultra will help me in my development and that's all I care about. I would pay more for EVGA every time. I spent over 25 years in IT and have dealt with every brand including many that don't exist anymore lol. If I had a customer who wanted a no-compromise gaming PC I always had them purchase EVGA. I have EVGA PSUs that are over a decade old that still work perfectly in my older machines as well. I'm an old "fanboy" I suppose but between the cooler designs, the overall durability, and the performance it's not hard to understand why. Blame Nvidia and crypto miners who are already rich not EVGA I agree 100%.

Exact same timeline as me except mine got to EVGA on 5/12 and so I'm probably looking at a Monday delivery because UPS doesn't deliver on Sundays.

I went with a Corsair gold 850w myself. Before stepping up to the 3080, I had a Corsair bronze 750 with my eVGA 2080 which ran for 12 years and still running.

I have a corsair 850w platinum I bought open box in 2015 for under 100$. I don't think it will ever die.

I told Evga Jacob on twitter today that i saw on forums that the 750w-850w GA and GT psu's did not work with the 3080 ftw ultra and if it was true. He replied saying both are fine now. So im guessing they released a revised model? Anyone here has bought one lately and can confirm that? Its on sale at amazon for $100 and im thinking of purchasing the 750w GA. But im worried lol. Its either that psu or the nzxt c850 for $125
