Also finally got step 3. Am I ok to ship directly insside original box or do I need to put that box in another box with more padding?

I bought mine from newegg and submitted my invoice which was approved on 9/25 when i bought the card. It was all done and I thought approved in advanced so I don't know why I had a 48 hour delay going from step 2 to 3 while other people got step 3 immediately. Just glad the wait is finally over. I just wish they allowed local drop off and pickup, but least ground shipping should only be a day each way.

From my understanding, they don't review/approve submitted receipts until you reach step 2. I also had around a 2 day wait from the initial step 2 email to step 3. After that it went fast. Glad to see you guys are getting your cards. Enjoy. Don't forget to get the extended warranty if your funds allow. You can sign up for the warranty on the new card when you get it. I took out the 10 year warranty for my 3090 as a precaution. Enjoy your new cards.

I somehow knew something bad was going to happen... UPS claims they attempted delivery to EVGA and the department was closed, so they wouldn't leave it. Been on hold for over an hour with UPS because they attempted delivery at 8:10am and they are going to attempt delivery again tomorrow....at 8am. They won't let me change the delivery time. So...I guess it will sit marked undeliverable forever.

Do they not email people? I honestly don't know what happens after step 1. Do they send email with a UPS label?
Step 2 is them sending an email stating you are out of the queue process and they are reviewing the invoice you sent it. Step 3 is them verifying your step up and you paying the difference plus shipping. Step 4 is them confiriming payment. Step 5 is them sending you the info to mail your card back to them. You will have to purchase your own label to ship to them. The whole process after receiving Step 2 email all the way through step 5 took me 36 hours. YMMV of course. I shipped my card with Next Day Air Wednesday at 8:18am for 81 dollars. They got the card this morning at 10:36am and confirmed it was delivered by 3:36pm. The email then says that they need to process the RMA return for 1-2 business days and then they will ship the card out. Once again, YMMV but after the Step 2 email finally came in, the process was super quick and simple.

I put my card back in the original packaging and put that in another box with some spare packing foam I had. If you ship through UPS, they had an option to use UPS packaging and I assume they box it for you. Not sure though.

Do you print out a ups label to send the old one back?
I had to buy a label to ship the old card back. Next Day Air through UPS cost me 81 dollars.

I just got back from the UPS store to ship out my 2080ti FTW. I live in Kansas City, paid $37 for UPS ground with tracking and $800 of insurance, it will arrive at EVGA's office by Tuesday the the 11th.
*sigh*... now I just chill with my onboard graphics :( Maybe I'll give Nvidia Geforce NOW a go....

Your supposed to put the card in the plastic clamshell it came in, back in the retail box is up to you, then put it in a bigger shipping box that has at least 2 inches of area around the whole thing that you fill with paper,bubble wrap,air pillows etc.... whatever you can to cushion the card.Think of it like this..... after you think its ready to ship can you throw it and kick it like a football and will it survive? If the answer is yes, then you did it right. If its no.... get to work! If it arrives physically damaged they will reject the package.

It depends on your needs and/or patience. If you don't want to wait 9 months, don't do it today. The stepup program started on 9/17/2020, they're on 9/26 now. It took them 9 months to move up 9 days in the queue. If you register today, you'll be waiting for a good amount of time. I registered on 9/30, and am fully aware it's going to take another month or so before I can get mine. It's just how things are right now, and i'm okay with this. I have to use a 2080 super in the mean time, poor me. Either way, it's up to you, but yeah, it's going to be a while given all things considered right now.

Well I shipped in original box and just put a label on it. That box had 2 inches of foam padding so hopefully its ok.

Yeah they still are using them, my 3070 xc3 ultra came in one. No poster though.
Clam shells are for their low end cards I Guess. They use the premium foam packaging for the FTW3 Ultras. Kinda dumb considering the price.
