That is the right attitude. You should get yours in time for Cyber Punk. The turnaround shouldn't be longer than 2 weeks.

Keep in mind we the associate reward program is a great option to use if you are not a member of the program. Since it's 5% off you could save over $40 instantly on a 3080 FTW3 Ultra and it's pretty easy to find an associate reward code to use on the forums. The queued checkout also gives time to not worry about being in a mad rush to checkout as quickly as possible.

Just did the math again with current progression...given that I recieved my email Sep 18, 2020, 10:49 PM for the queue...with current rate of progression up to the 20th, that would currently mean that I can expect to see a card on... March 2nd. ****ing great. Last time I math'ed it out like a week or two ago, it was more like 1st week of January. What a joke. Seriously considering just cancelling the step up, giving the 2060 supers to my kids, and just buying a different card like the TUF or whatever that's going to perform EXACTLY THE SAME outside of extreme OC benchmarking..... AND cost hundreds less. >=\

Will the 2060S hold you over until you get your card? It's definitely more cost effective to just wait for step-up. If you have the funds then upgrade now, IF you can find a card to even purchase. If I had to guess the line will move quicker as time progresses, I mean it looks like we had at least 26 people move to step two this week. And those are just the people we are aware of, there could have been more people who are not on the forum that received step two this week. Hang in there, I get that your frustrated. I've been happy with my 2070s and I'm almost sad to see it go.

If all I do is continue to play the games I already play? Then sure, of course it will. I got the 2060 to get in the step-up in the first place, and I'm coming from a 970 GTX...... but the point is why the hell would I overpay for a card that's providing no real benefit other than the fact that I'm guaranteed to get one "at some point"....that point looking a whole lot like it will already be halfway through the cycle before I'd expect to see Supers or more memory or whatever.
These 3080's were supposed to be going into a system meant to last a long time. I'm damn sure not paying 800 bucks for one if AMD drops Navi tomorrow or whatever and benchmarks come out and they're comparable with MORE memory for hundreds less. Memory, in any aspect (graphics or system) is not something I skimp on when doing builds, and that's never failed to win out over time for me, so do I want to wait until MARCH? Hell no, and I won't. There's no reason for me to spend ~850+/card if I'm waiting that long. I'll be able to pick one up off a shelf by then. I live two blocks behind a Micro Center.

Step 5 Complete. Shipped my old card on 10/16 and got the new card today, 10/27. (chose Ground shipping). Step 1 time 9/17, 9:36am for reference. Excited, but it'll just sit nicely in the box until I see if I can nab a 5900x next week to complete what I need to start/finish my build. Best of luck to everyone else and hope the line moves faster as days go by. Jacob did mention a bigger drop is still coming this week.
