innocznt Last weeks batch seemed bigger, seems like only people within 15 minutes of last week got their step 2 today. If there’s another drop this week, I’ll probably be in that batch or the next one, we’re getting close!
From what I remembered last week only through part of something like 9:25/6:25 depending on time zone. Which is why I didn't expect to get a Step 2 and last week was at least the 3rd batch. The first listed Step 1 at least used to be 14 after so in 3 drops they had gone 11 minutes.... my step one time was like 9:35 eastern. So time wise I think this has to be the largest drop yet... but numbers wise who knows because we only see the people who post here. Oh and btw I'm getting older so maybe I just remember wrong but I thought that was about right...

seaberttheseal Step 2 baby! 2:47 EST, I was a 9:42 day 1 launch. Now the question is, should I sell on ebay for $1,500 and re-buy later in the year (or even get a big navi card if they are good).... decisions, decisions...

Yeah for sure, it would be the biggest batch for sure and they could just be getting bigger every week as stock comes in, but from what it looked like here, it doesn’t look as big as last weeks but it probably is haha. And yeah, we don’t see the real numbers on here, just the people that post their process. There were over 1000 in the first hour according to customer support but that first hour is coming to an end.

My inpatient self went ahead and snagged a 3080 FE from Best Buy in a frenzy last week with a 10% off coupon. It seems I might be getting the step up 3080 FTW3 soon. Which one should I keep (ie which one would hold more resale value?).

I would keep the Evga FTW3; and you look at ebay sale prices the version doesn't matter much, so just sell the FE.

That I don't know because I didn't notice my Step 2 until after 3 some time.... but the Step 3 also had a slightly different appearance in email list. I'll try to post an image with the time stamps. *edit* Step 2 time was 2:47pm eastern, Step 3 was 3:05pm and Step 4 was 3:13pm. Step 2 and Step 4 had the same icon and step 3 had a different one. Regardless the payment was done right on the registered product page in my account. Step 3 is just the verification of price/payment and my other card was purchased direct from EVGA. I had also uploaded the invoice a while back just in case. Step 4 was just that they had processed my payment.

I agree. The EVGA has better cooling and warranty support too.

Interesting. Might be because you purchased your card directly with EVGA. I uploaded my invoice a while back as well, but I bought mine from Microcenter. It also probably doesn't help that the purchase of my current EVGA card was through an exchange at Microcenter of another graphics card. I called EVGA a couple weeks ago to see if this would cause issues, but the customer service rep said it would be ok since it constitutes a new purchase. Just curious if that would be my hold up at this point considering I got my step 1 e-mail a little earlier based on the list.

I don't really know how their system works. Maybe direct purchases can be automated and a CSR (or similar) has to actually check the invoice if not a direct purchase.

Ouch! Might want to look into a prepaid Visa if it continues to be an issue. Or ask a family member if possible.

I've been thinking about this. The people who were getting in within the first hour are also probably more likely to be the type of people to track progress in a forum thread. So they should be more highly represented in the list. People who got in on the next day, or two or 3 days later probably don't care as much, so they are less likely to be on a forum thread tracking. I wonder what the reality is, though. Were the bulk of the people getting in the queue in the first day? Or was it fairly steady over the next few days as people realized they weren't going to find a card, so they went and bought a 2070 super so they could join the step up queue? I know there is definitely a spike right at the beginning, but am curious how the curve looks past that.

Probably will never know for sure. However, I think once the cards vanished everywhere with very few seeming to go to non scalpers. Plus at the time there wasn't the current notify system for actual orders. I would guess there is going to have been a decent spike post launch. Opposed to people who bought a card before launch, based on "best guess" of 3000 series launch for a planned step up. Compared to other recent generations... We have really good performance, decent prices compared to last generation and you pretty much can't buy the cards anywhere but scalper land. So you had the frenzy followed by the complete lack of stock. Which is why I figure there should have been a decent spike post launch day.

I haven't seen anything mentioned but easily could have missed it. Have they said anything about what 3070 stock is going to look like vs the 3080? For my needs I would be totally happy with either card and would prioritize whatever I could get sooner. As it stands, I only signed up last week so I'm very far down the list. Wondering if I should just hold onto my spot for a 3080 or cancel it and try to get on for a 3070 as soon as it goes online.

Just dropped mine off at FedEx, was $57 for ground. Would have been $160+ to ship even 2nd Day Air (yikes!). EVGA should get my card by Monday, so considering I paid for 2nd Day Air shipping (should have just overnighted, doh!), I should be getting the 3080 by next Friday is my hope. No gaming for me this weekend, but at least I'll have it by next weekend and in time for all the great upcoming titles!!!

When I stopped by the Box/Ship place I use. I asked the girl just for kicks about overnight and she laughed. So I was like well I heard numbers like $130 or more. She just said over night would be like $200 and I laughed (notice a pattern here). I might be a bit farther away. My ground rate was about $5 more and delivery day was estimated to be Tuesday. I've been using my laptop for a while because I didn't want to be in a hurry when I pulled old card out of loop. So laptop it is for a while longer but happily at this point.

Out of curiosity, how much of that total cost was insurance? And did you also add signature required? Thanks!
