10/3 7:30PM EST, got my step 2 on 6/15. Almost there! Would probably have mine back to me if I hadn’t been moving when I got the notice.

So as someone who just got his 3070 Ti FTW3 ULTRA today I assume it's pointless to even try to step up to a 3080? Queue time would be insanely long right?

Well, probably, yes. I entered the queue on 10/5 and am still waiting. However, you never know when they are going to start picking up steam on production. Of course, I suspect if they were any closer to that we'd see the purchase queue moving, and it seems to be very slow as well.

My 3080 arrives this Friday woop

 Some day we should have a reunion to celebrate the months we've spent together waiting for EVGA to pull our Step Ups out of thin air together. We need a survivers group as well to deal with PTSD caused by email spam filters and UPS postal mishaps. When you go to ship your card (it will eventually happen trust me) don't be surprised if you find yourself trying to relay the importance of the package and its care, paying for more insurance than you can afford, and being met with a blank stare and the same level of work you get when you send something that costs $20 for $4. I could only afford $1000 in insurance and that would leave me short.
 
   It might be different for me because I use my GPU for work first then play (I doubt it makes it easier on you who only game). I'm moving from a 2070 Super FTW3 Ultra with 8GB to a 3080 FTW3 Ultra with 10GB of VRAM. It should make a huge difference in GPU dependant programs like World Creator, Encoding, 3d Modeling/Animation, etc. When you have over 2 years of constant work in a development project you quickly realize you are limited by processing speed. I was joking about the survivor's group but I spent many hours reading posts and then started feeling a connection with everyone here.
   
I wish you all the best with your Step Ups and according to many sources the GPU demand is about to be filled and prices will be coming back down.

Luckily, the Ti isn't worth the extra cash over a 3080, but essentially, your stuck with your choice, unless you have the 90 day window to change.

Welp, UPS lost my 3080 and I've had to open a claim. I'm literally distraught, I'd saved up for months to pay the difference and waited 8 to even get a chance to get one. Now I have no GPU at all.

Does anyone know how EVGA will handle this? They don't open till 11 my time, but a refund wouldn't ensure I'd get a new card any time soon, I need them to ship a replacement card or I'm just completely screwed.

First off, I'm sorry for your loss. I truly hope EVGA support helps you out in your time of need, I know I would also be devastated in this situation. I hope you added extra insurance to cover the value of the lost card. I would hope EVGA gives you an opportunity to buy the card at normal retail, but I have no idea how they are going to handle this. If you call and you arent getting your point across to a normal agent, then I would definitely try to escalate to a supervisor or someone with more understanding on hard to manage situation. As someone who use to work in a call center for a cable company and would work on the escalation line regularly I would recommend to stay as courteous as possible. It's okay to be mad at the situation and sound distraught, just don't point it directly to the agent helping you. Once you break their respect, they will do everything by the book and refuse to assist any further. That's how I was on the phones. Do the required amount of work to pass QC for everyone who lost my respect, go above and beyond for the few that kept their cool.
 
Give us an update on the situation. I'm sure many of us are curious on the results.

Update: EVGA is opening a claim on their end with UPS, once it's been determined that it's actually been lost and UPS refunds them, EVGA will send me a new card

That is good news! Now hopefully there isn't much delay before you get your card. Hope you get your card soon!

I just got a notification that they received my card yesterday even though it arrived at their facility on 6/24 at like 11 am. Is there a possibility it will be processed and a new one sent today? It does say estimated ship time 6/30. I'm just hoping that's not accurate. 

I don't think their warehouse is open on the weekends. If it is then it will probably ship today, but my guess is it's going out on Monday.

Which isnt necessarily bad imo, either the 3080 comes in stock or we get a 3080 Super or 4080. Lets pray semiconductor prices began to normalize by then so that we dont see insane markups by NVIDIA like we have on the 3080Ti cause no way I am paying that much for a marginal increase.

same worst case we get the 4070 super but with the price of the 3070ti ftw 3 unless you were one of those new guys that got a huge elite member discount its almost dumb not to start a 3080 step up even if it takes ages
