Card is in the pipe. Should get there Monday.
Considering getting a hybrid kit for it. The queues for the hybrid cards are ridiculously slow.

This is just a guess but I would say it's like they are splitting the payment between the video card you send back and the money you send them. They are NOT discounting the item, you are buying at full retail price with an alternate payment method combined with USD, therefore they need tax for the entire price of the card.
Yeah. I assumed it was tax on the difference because the initial cost estimate they gave me had tax only on the difference ($22 on $320). But the step up info page does say that tax is assessed based on the msrp of the new card. It's just annoying in that my $356 step up became $478 between that and the price hike. I'll live.
Yeeeaaa I stepped up from 2070 super to the 3080 between price hike and taxes I was like 398 for me, but then to ship it properly was another 75 bucks with insurance. Definitely higher than I anticipated based off the estimate given by evga. I am still extremely grateful for the opportunity evga provides with this program tho but if anyone in evga is reading these that would be a point for improvement. Outlining the way taxes will be assessed for the estimate ( I expected like 20 bucks in taxes and was hit with just about 80 big difference)

All the options are listed here under the GPU listing (click the + ): (...edit: guess I can't post links as a newbie, but google EVGA Stepup and you'll find the page) For the US, at least, it's pretty much exclusively the FTW3 models; this is the same as it was when I ordered back in September last year except that now the Ti variants exist. Define 'close' to FE MSRP; the 3080 FTW3 has a $909 MSRP on EVGA's own store, which is certainly more than the FE version but a fair bit less than the $1,000+ prices I've seen on some other cards (never mind what they go for from scalpers, ugh).

Thanks. "3080 FTW3 has a $909 MSRP" hmmmm ... the 3070ti I'll be getting a noti for is $800 ... I'm debating whether an extra $110 is worth it for a step up to a 3080, but I'm leaning heavily towards "yes"? The extra vRam will make it more "future proof" and it's supposedly 20%'ish better in gaming performance. I know nothing's "future proof" per se, but I'm still running my old GTX 970  So maybe a 3080 could last me just as long (or maybe even longer).

If you're within 90 days of purchase, you can freely change your step up. Once you're over 90 days, you're stuck with what you chose. I'm assuming the 3080Ti step up queue will be faster, but it's also going from $909 to $1400 for a mere 7-10% improvement.

I really cant see them catching up any time soon on the 3080...if its still in October? I feel like the 40 series will be out before they catch up on the 3080 step up que. Not real happy with the $1400 though....but it seems more realistic time wise?

Well you probably haven't been following the queue for very long than. The queue has picked up quite the momentum lately. You need to realize that there was a very high demand during the launch 3080 period. Then the list thins out. If you haven't already switched to the 3080ti queue, than good luck waiting. The performance gain isn't much isn't worth the price. Either queue will have a waiting queue.

Finally, my card arrived at EVGA today (they've yet to update the status on their end), hopefully within the week I'll see my new 3080, my PC is useless without it. Does anyone know how long it takes then to ship out the new one? I've seen someone say 1-3, and UPS ground to EVGA was three days, so I'm thinking worse case is it arrives next Monday, best by this Friday. Also, can I update the shipping method before they send it out? It's just UPS ground right now.

Mine got checked in about 25 min ago, should be going through QA. Hopefully you'll get notice today, I emailed them last night and they basically said it can take up to 2 days just to check shipments in.
