You guys think an antistatic bag is required? I have the box but the bag vanished to the ether
I am not 100% positive but from what some of the others on this forum have posted, they are pretty tight about the packaging and shipping. Maybe your local computer store will give you a static bag to put it in. Electrostatic discharge is a very real possibility so I would make sure. I'd hate to see you ship it and have them refuse it or something. Does anyone else know the answer 100%?

The internet seems real divided, I grabbed one from our IT department at work just to make sure. It would suck to ship it in and have it be damaged and not only not get a 3080 but be out my 2070S as well

Agreed, although I don't think this was all a failure in the supply chain. Too much money has been made while we wait. Nvidia released its LHR as if they were saving gamers from shortages blamed on crypto miners while they sold endless GPUs as CMP devices (Computational/Mining). I would like to see their GPU distribution list and find out what percentage of GPUs were sold directly to miners as opposed to gamers.

I can not agree more about this. The problem is also they were not expecting as many people to be home and have nothing to do.

This looks like a pretty decent drop, and they just mass notified everyone in it at once. It may take them a few days to get through them all.
They just processed it and let me pay for it. Was kind of shocked being taxed for the full value of the 3080, when you're only paying the difference in price in my case like 250 usd price difference. O well.

This is just a guess but I would say it's like they are splitting the payment between the video card you send back and the money you send them. They are NOT discounting the item, you are buying at full retail price with an alternate payment method combined with USD, therefore they need tax for the entire price of the card. Grats on those getting your cards. I still have a very long wait ahead of me. The 3060 I got from EVGA is treating me much better than the 980ti it replaced that was crashing my computer every few minutes. Can't wait to send this 3060 back and get the 3080, I look forward to extra power for my 1440p Ultrawide monitor.

Yeah. I assumed it was tax on the difference because the initial cost estimate they gave me had tax only on the difference ($22 on $320). But the step up info page does say that tax is assessed based on the msrp of the new card. It's just annoying in that my $356 step up became $478 between that and the price hike. I'll live.

Got my step 5 today, card set to ship out shortly. Bummer right before a weekend end but eh waited this long right haha. Hope speedy returns for everyone =) Don't forget to insure and take pictures of your card prior to shipment if you are worried about any freight damages.
