So the posts here showing they received next step that went into the queue on 9/17/20 have me a little on edge.. my email confirmation is timestamped at 4:47pm on 9/17/20. I should add myself to the spreadsheet but if I remember right, there was only one step up option for the 3080 series, which is the 3080 ftw3 ultra, right? I've been checking every day now, even over the weekend 😅 knowing my luck, some bug will skip me. Invoice is properly uploaded so there shouldn't be any issue. The step up community data is both a blessing and a curse.

Edit: I just realized my time is pacific and those times were probably converted to eastern. Do I guess it would be 7:47pm edt when I received my step 1 confirmation.

Yes, convert to EST for the spreadsheet. That would put you right under me or who ever else did a step-up without reporting it on the spreadsheet. Let's hope for the best.

Honestly, at this point, they need to just stop shipping cards to retail partners, and stand by prior customers. If I don't have my 3080 in the next month (stepup time was approx 9 or 10pm on the 18th), this will be my last purchase from EVGA, and I'm not even a longtime customer, just the prior card and hopefully a 3080. If I was 3-4 generations of EVGA cards in, and had to wait this long, I'd be *pissed*. I'm just merely disappointed, but I have zero faith in ever using this specific program ever again, not to mention that had I known things were going to take this long, I probably would've paid for overnight shipping since I've had SIX BLOODY MONTHS by the time my card likely ships to justify the cost. Now, I can't even do that and won't have a video card for who the hell knows how long when it does come up, as my old cards went into computers my kids are having to use for school. It's not like I can just rip them out and put them back in my PC.

You realize there is a worldwide silicon shortage and that all gpu manufacturers are impacted right? EVGA have contractual obligations. I'd love for them to send more cards to this queue and to the notify queues, but nobody can just wave a magic wand and end this shortage.

This is exactly why I am not mad about the queue time. It sucks to not have the best graphics card but I am getting by with what I have. I'm sure things will pick up eventually. Scalpers and shortages make this a less ideal time to build a PC. Almost all tech industries are impacted, and there is nothing we can do about it but wait.

Kids don't need a graphics card for school, that's just bs. they will be fine doing the same stuff on an ipad for their little zoom calls. Hell even onboard video will suffice for their small needs. Sounds like you made your issue worse by giving them a card that isn't needed.

Depends what they're using them for I suppose, but if it's just zoom, word, etc. they could also just get a used gt 710 or something for super cheap even if the system is Ryzen based or something and lacks an integrated gpu.

I've read reports on /r/nvidia that they're processing step-1s from 9/19/20!

 Yeah i'm gonna have to say that was either an error on EVGA's end or that 9 should be a 7. There is a handful of day 1 step-ups unfulfilled.

You were right...

In Europe there are only 7 3080's fulfilled... So when you guys think it can't get any worse.. Please take a look at the 3080 Europe topic ;)

Did step 1 on Sept. 17, 2020 at 7:47pm EDT.

got my 2nd step today, Feb. 24, 2021, this morning.

Verification went through fine, paid my balance, now to be down for a few days 😅 oh the unfortunate moment of having a KF chip... I do have a 660 I will put in so I can boot for 3d printing stuff.

How does the step up program work exactly or where can I find info on it?

Has anyone here had a problem with payment? I tried two different cards with sufficient funds but I am getting this error:

My first card failed. B of A VISA. I tried again, this time using a MC, and it went through without issue. Could be an issue with their VISA processor right now? Try a MC if you can.

Hint: if you have a paypal account, PayPal Key would do the trick here ;)

My biggest frustration is with the fact it has gotten slower since the price increase. As if they're attempting to do as little as possible until then. I could've gotten a 3080 from bestbuy in this timeframe.. i would know as I almost checked out with one but decided to wait a little longer. We are sticking with EVGA when we could've bought from someone else and quicker. This whole "They don't have to do it" is kinda old especially right now when 2070 supers are going for 750-1k preowned. EVGA could refurbish them and make the difference back + profit I am sure. I also could've gotten a cheaper 3080 model and not the top of the line factory OC'd one with what I am sure is a higher profit margin for them.

That logic makes absolutely no sense. Just go buy your 3080 if it is easy to get as you're saying. It's not like you can't sell your current gpu for exuberant prices either. Assuming you have a 2070S, then just sell it for as such and get a free 3080. The entitlement from some people in this thread is quite sad to see.
