First post to just to say how disappointed I am with this.

From what I can tell from other posts and youtube videos, it's just a correctly shaped, cosmetic shroud that's the difference from the 1080 hybrid that will fit and function on the 1080ti.

    I really want some justification.

They just changed it due to people calling them out on another thread. So 119.99 to 179.99 to 159.99.....

Hey guys sorry the updated price was an error. After the cost evaluation unfortunately it needed to change because of the small run and not part of our normal volume product, but the there was an error when input. The correct price is $159.99

I is simple as Supply and Demand. (The correct price is $159.99) as Posted above.
What make you think that EVGA needs to give you a justification why they changed a price on their products?

No.  EVGA allows such mods without it voiding warranty.

If you ever have to return the card to EVGA (RMA/Step-Up/etc.), you would have to remove the AIO Kit prior to sending the card back.

Literally the only difference between this and the 1080 kit is the midplate.  What a rip off.

No it's not, there's an album I found where the only modifications made were to the midplate. I'd link it, but no matter how many times I edit this post the link won't show.

I dont care about it being $159.99.   Of course, I wish it was cheaper but this is much easier and painless than trying to set up an EKWB setup just for your GPU.  I still have 4 years warranty on my Corsair H100I Gtx (sdo dont want to discard yet/sell) for my 4790k and just got my 1080tiFE as an EVGA step-up.  This is a perfect solution for me and I will be buying one ASAP when available.

Well you are just a little wrong in what you are saying!
Why because the GTX 1080 only has ONE 8-Pin Power Connector for the Shroud to mount around.
And the GTX 1080Ti has ONE 8-Pin AND ONE 6-Pin Power Connectors so the Current GTX 1080 Hybrid Shroud will not work on the GTX 1080Ti Graphics Card.
You may be looking at the GTX 1080 FTW Hybrid Shroud as well.

The thing is, that little section in the corner is not the shroud, it's the midplate.  It looks like the shroud in this picture, but it's really the plate beneath.  The shroud goes over the modified midplate with no issues.  Here is a pic of a modified 1080 kit.

What about memory and VRMs? The kraken doesn't include any direct contact solution for them, just a low RPM 90mm fan for cooling. Can't tell from the picture, but hopefully you affixed heatsinks to all the memory and the VRMs.

I was lucky enough the score myself the 400-HY-5388-B1. Missed out on the Wednesday launch because I was at work, but randomly checked my email on Thursday (May 4th) and I had received the in-stock notification like 2 minutes prior. Of course, Gmail filtered it it into the updates tab so my phone didn't notify me that the email had come through. However, still managed to grab one. I don't think I've ever thrown money at my phone screen that fast before!

Just ordered my kit as well. First time using an FE (I usually buy the FTW editions) but was in a place to step up to the 1080 Ti FE. It runs great, I can get a max of 2050 MHz core and 12,000 MHz memory, just runs hot and loud at full fan speed and 90C. This Hybrid kit seemed like a no-brainer for lower operating temps and noise. Excited to try it out!
