With TechPowerUp shutting down their picture hosting what is the next best hosting place to thread photos? IIRC I tried Imgur but, unless I was doing something wrong, that one wouldn't display as embedded picture, it was showing up as link.

You “did” do something wrong. For Imgur to work, you have to have the .jpg link. Most often, I have to open the picture, and then “open image in a new tab” on desktop, or I have to remove part of the mobile link and add .jpg to the end of the link it gives.
All Imgur links should be I.Imgur.com/lettersandnumbers.jpg for them to work. If it isn’t like that, it will not embed properly.
There are a few other sites, but I use Imgur because I am familiar with it.
Never ever use Personal Google Drive links.. they are guaranteed to cause havoc on a thread.

I don't see anything like that menu on my screen. All I see is buttons to share on Facebook, Twitter, etc. Do I have to create an account and sign in to be able to see that on my screen?

I use imgbb.com - but it does have a limit that I've not hit yet.

I use Imgur
Upload then open your image
Rt click & select " copy image location"
put that link in the Insert / Edit Image tool in the post header - looks like a window, with green plus in lower right corner

Thank you everyone that has tried to help! I wasn't able to find out how Z.PricyWolf got that Imgur menu but right click & copy image link Cool GTX suggested worked.
