I'm in the market for a 3080 and i am a huge fan of EVGA but are these are some of the ugliest cards i have ever seen from you guys. there is absolutely nothing that strikes me as remotely close to ok looking. what were you guys thinking? lol

I mean, let's be realistic here. People spend a ton of time and money on aesthetics, from color scheme, case design (most which have glass panels now), etc. Many gamers go beyond that to stuff like deskmat, custom mechanical keyboards, mice, etc. There's a whole sub dedicated to battlestations. If you spend a ton of time at your desk, the aesthetic quality can have a positive influence on you. Basically, a lot of gamers do care about both form and function.
 
And in this case specially, there's no reason to believe EVGA's offering is going to be any better than anyone else's, and this time even Nvidia's is providing good competition. So it might really come down to aesthetics and stuff like warranty.
 
I'll be blunt and say I agree that EVGA's cards this generation are ugly as heck, but I also don't care and never have. I mostly only buy EVGA not for the quality but because of the warranty, and the fact that it's transferable. This really helps EVGA cards in particular keep their value in the used segment, though I imagine if supers and TIs come out (they will), the resale value of the regulars will probably be pretty nix anyway.
 
So I'm not sure why you're so surprised people aesthetics. 

I have looked at everyone else's cards and they are even worse looking in my opinion... it seems like none of the manufacturers put much effort into the first gen versions of these new 30XX series.
 I'll bet when the 'Ti' or 'Super' versions come out ,we will see some improved design aesthetics across the board ....

Jayz2Cents confirmed there will be options to change the color of the red accent.  Details of exactly how will be revealed later.  Guess all of the complaints got through to EVGA.  Now we wait to see what exactly those options are.  There were like 6 colors in his vid. Not bad.

• He never said anything about performance; he mentioned aesthetics. The two aren't mutually exclusive.
• Having an opinion isn't uniquely American, and given that aesthetics are inherently subjective, education isn't a factor here.
• No one attacked you, so it's not appropriate for you to attack him or anyone else for that matter.

Unfortunately changing the red accents for the FTW3 cards won't help what they did to the hydro copper block.
I mean, it'd be one thing if it were color neutral, black and greys or silvers like before. 
You can't do anything green theme for your case with that card. It'd look out of place.

my guy there are alot of options. Some people like the designs

This new look is pushing me to a FE card. That and the cooling solution on my 1080Ti seems almost identical to what they are slapping on the 3080. Doesn't seem like the AIB's are adding much to design any more.

Why change the cooling design if it's not broken? Plenty of test showing the AIB cooling workout just as well if not better than FE design.

I know EVGA sees all the negative criticism about the looks of their cards and always just says it's a vocal minority and only unhappy people post their opinions online. But really there would be a lot less negative criticism if they would pick a look and stick with it. They change it so drastically every generation so people are always going to be more upset than if they had an idea of what to expect. Add that in with the fact that EVGA historically had the most understated looks to their cards and now seemingly have gone completely the other way it's understandable people would reject such major changes. I wish EVGA would just go back to their old design philosophy (or so it seemed) of less is more.

I agree with this.  I think some of the other manufactures have done a better job of picking an aesthetic and holding to it throughout various lines.  Would love to see the FTW get a signature look that carries over card generations. 

I don't think these cards look bad at all. What would look better?

True, most of the EVGA 10xx series cards were the best professional, industrial looking cards made..really nice.
 I also think these new NVIDIA FE cards are very well made & look solid professional...
 
Most all aftermarket manufacturers 30xx series cards are not all that good looking... The EVGA FTW3 would be my closest pick.,. ( if you could remove that red trim piece at the end )

Not sure if you have gotten a card yet, but I thought the same thing at first. After seeing a video of the card my mind completely changed. The product photos on their website are not the greatest.

OP is just dead wrong.  The Colorful are far worse.  I actually like the look of the FTW3...other than the lipstick.  

To be honest I kindove like the design of the evga ones even with those striking red accents. 

I haven't seen it in builds enough to judge yet. I hate the rainbow RGB look, I'd like to see it installed with a static colour for my all white build.

Have a few drinks and it will look alot better.  Just be prepared in the morning when you wake up.

Sounds like you are speaking from experience.  
 
Other than the red lipstick, I like the look of the FTW3.
