I used to own one.  Nice ride, decent power and plush interior for the time.  Only problem is that because the car is a transverse mounted V8 FWD, it is very hard to work on and also very expensive.  I had lots of electrical issues.  I also have a friend who still has one, and he is always having electrical issues.

wernt the most dependable cars lol but they were nice and about working on them, my uncle has had quite a few over the years and the engines and trannys would go bad so ive done my fair share of engine changes on these cars. still they rode like a dream.

BAM, this is an opinion thread, hatches are hot to me, I kept my mouth shut to most of the stuff posted in this thread, I expect the same treatment
what's impressive about a 4 cylinder car lol? Im not arguing im asking for your expertise.

Well, Honda in particular makes some of the best/most powerful/reliable 4 cylinder engines in the world, that is a fact.  Take for instance the AP1 S2000 F20C motor, It Generates 120 horsepower per liter, that's more HP/ liter than a ferrari enzo, revs to 9000rpm and will run for hundreds of thousands of miles with very very little maintenance. Everyone has their own thing but I for one love tuning Hondas, I am in my early 20s and im not baller so whats an affordable car that I can "tune it up" and make faster for cheap? A honda civic. I bought my car 3 years ago for 1500 dollars it was all stock. I have poured my heart and soul into this car. I put in an engine out of a prelude into this car and it went from a 17 second grocery getter to a 12 second monster and a handful of other suspension mods. I have maybe 5,000 dollars into this car including the cost of it, I blow away pretty much every single car you see on the road except for exotics.....all without nitrous or a turbocharger/supercharger, power-weight ratio FTW, its quite fun watching mid life crysis guys get stomped on by a little $5,000 civic in their Porsche with the top down and their wife in the seat.....
/rant

I can tell you put a lot of thought into your post. I give a bad rep to all civic drivers. Most of the time its some punk kid with no taste that just bought a civic because all his other friends have one. Then thinks its cool to slap on a fart can and tint his rear tail lights. You seem to not be one of those types. Personally I'm saving up for an Elise or an Exige (one of the cars I posted).

I am a Honda enthusiast not a ricer (notice no fart can on my car), thumbs up to you sir for recognizing the difference! Goodluck with the Elise/Exige man, I love those cars.

Oh come on. That's one hell of a hot hatch. 300hp stock.
If they sold it in the US, I'd be all over it.

I'm NOT knocking the Focus, I own one. We can wait Ford IS bringing the Focus ST the US. It looked great at the North American International Auro show In Detroit. Have you watched last episode of Top Gear ? They had the Focus RS500 on the show

My 4-cyl is 438whp.  Take away the 20% (+/- 2-3%) or so loss of power through the drivetrain, and the engine itself is 526hp.  Your typical stock Corvette Z06 is 505hp.  And I'm only 2600lbs.  To me, I think that's impressive, considering the motor is only a 1.8L

I thought about getting a Shelby or a GT but premium gas, and having to always drive it like I stole it to keep the engine in good working order and not in the shop is what stayed my hand.

How could you not want to drive that like you stole it? Isn't that kind of the point of buying such a car?

Apologies to anyone offended by me in posting a pic of my daily driver here.  It may not be "Smokin' Hot", but it can handle damned-near every type of terrain I can throw at it (especially since I live in Kansas ; )

Plus, now that I've broken the 50-post mark, I can finally head into the private marketplace, in search of some GTX 260 waterblocks.  Doubt if I'll find any, but hey — it's worth a shot!
