ugh... game is running sloooow. yeah, i can play it on my HTPC (which was the plan). It is working great on my 55" led lcd w/ ati 5870... but!! 360 controller supported is ****ed... so.. QA == 100% fail. (dow 2 is having crazy slow downs too.. works good... then drops to 8fps.. i have to alt-tab to get the speed back up)

Hmm can you try running only 2-way SLI? I haven't had any performance problems with just 2-way, but from what I've seen 3-way and 4-way are still a bit rough around the edges. DoW2 runs great for me, no problems here. The in-game bench shows a drop to 8 FPS drop but it must be a rounding error at the start of the bench because FRAPs/Afterburner don't pick it up and there's no point in the actual bench that feels like 8FPS. Also for the 360 controller problem, can you try this fix? http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/4721051016/m/3101010256 It worked for me in AC2, I need to try it with AC1 and FC2 also, its a recurring problem with Ubisoft titles. The only one I can remember recently that worked with the 360 controller perfectly is Prince of Persia 2008.

It isn't just me with problems with SC. Others with 470/480s are ****ing on steam :) It is also REALLY broken controller support. I can't even look up and the buttons are mis setup. dow2 bench works fine.. everything is going nice @ like 170 fps.. then .. POW.. 8fps.. GPU usage is really really low on dow2 too.. feels like a driver issues. SC is giving me some place between 35-55 fps (normally in the 40s..) damn u world! can't play on my HTPC with the 5870 cause the 360 controller doesn't work. can't play on my main box cause 480s are gimped... *sigh* well.. i still need to finish metro and there are those billions of copies of cryostasis :) btw, thanks for the AC2 fix.. it was bug'n me in that :)

One reason it may not be running that well is because there seems to be no SLI profile for the game yet. Thus is only running 1 GPU On my GTX 280 with Very High Shadows, High and 4 X AA I am getting 30fps hopefully when the profile I can get 40-45, but we will wait and see.

yeah, i too think it is lack of SLI that is the problem (and not the pix from the first post) I took a peak @ the GPU usage and only one card is being used.

it is a short game.. see it in PC high rez glory... but u'll need to wait till the next patch :) Splinter Cell Conviction v1.01 Update ================================================== ============================ * Voice chat * Added DLC support * Added multi-GPU support (Crossfire/SLI) * Added ATI Eyefinity support * Fixed graphic glitches when running in low visual quality * Fixed Microsoft Wireless X360 controller not being detected properly with some drivers * Fixed many disconnection problems in coop modes * Fixed interaction buttons overlapping in certain resolutions/aspect ratios * Low-end video card optimizations * Various minor fixes i have no idea what it is coming out tho...

Ah if it has no SLI profile, you can try to force it with nHancer if you're familiar with how to use it. Try the same SLI compatibility flags as SC: Chaos Theory with 03, 14, 22, 25.

OMG..do you remeber when S.C Chaos Theory came out? I had just got my two EVGA GTX 8800's and installed the game.......went to start it and CRASH to desktop. Come to find out there was no support for the new 8800's. That is still the case to this day I believe. God I hope this doesnt happen here!!!

WOW, I am glad I did not pre-order it from best buy now. I was going to but because I was out of the country I did not see the point. This is not the first time they have release a game with bad support. If they don't patch the issues right away this very well might be the end of SP for the PC for many gamers. I still have never fully played Double agent becase of all the level loading issues

Actually I would not blame NVIDIA, the fact that the game popsup the message tells you that it is the game developers. And this specific developer is KNOWN for releasing games with major issues/bugs. Like I said, Double Agent never even had the issues patched/fixed. We can only hope that this new game will not be the same

play it on your 5870 :) (make sure u have 10.4 driver.. offically finally out today) I'd do that on my HTPC and the fps is pretty good @ 1080p... IF ONLY the x360 controller would work (correctly).. but it doesn't.. so the same patch the fixes SLI should fix x360 also, some retail copies are getting patch to 1.01 which does have sli support. But there seems to be no logic behind why some copies get the patch and others don't. Steam copies do not have the patch *cry*
