So my question is........is this board a win or a loss (worth keeping or not)? Im not a serious OC, but I did want to build my new rig with dual 3090's, and since this has the slots to fit, I got one. For a basic build (I do heavy video editing), is the mobo better than whatever other options are out there? I see them already selling on ebay for retail or less!
 
ps....I know I don't need dual 3090's for editing (one will suffice), but I happen to have 2, so I wanted a crazy build to showcase on my desk in my home studio.

If you want the most bling'd out showcase board that supports the 3090 sli bridge that would be the maximus xiii extreme (not the glacial variant).  It's got an OLED screen on it lol.

Yeah.........uuuuummmmmmm, I'll stick to the Evga ...LOL,LOL,LOL. That thing is double the price. Thats the only other mobo that will fit dual evga 3090's with nvlink?

Elmorlabs has a 3 slot nvlink for the new gen, it is not OFFICIAL though. Though results look good with it.

Does EVGA even have a Board with TPM 2.0, that will work with Windows 11 ?
I just built a X299, and the app says I will Not be able to upgrade to Win 11

If you see a “Compatible TPM cannot be found” message instead, your PC does not have a TPM.
I got this message, then went into BIOS, found the setting changed it, and Now I am Compatible.
A Hint for others; If you cannot get into BIOS, and are running SLI, Try changing the cable to the other card, and try again....
This almost had me make a big mistake, ordering a MSI motherboard and MTP unit,  I didn't need, I was going to Build a new system, but didn't need to.

Yes but you need to enable TPP under Advanced in the BIOS.

Done! But SLI Option does not appears in the Nvidia Control Panel. I would appreciate any help.

Well hell.  I was hoping it was just an issue with the bridge not seating properly.  I've had that happen a time or two myself.

Considering that it is 4 months before the announcement of Alder-Lake, I no longer expect 590 kingpin. It just doesn't make sense, + 20% IPC will be in the new architecture Golden Cove versus current Willow Cove. For now, waiting sense Z690 Kingpin. 

I am kind of thinking we might see the Z590 Dark come out around the start of the EVGA 22 anniversary event. It in a way would make a lot of sense and fall in line with what Jacob was saying during the stream. Of course that is my guess but if it is around that time we could see the Kingpin models if it's during the event that they launch.

Contacted EVGA, they just release and update a few days ago to improve SLI compatibility. Performed the BIOS update right now and it's working.

Alder Lake rumors point at 2021 launch but I doubt it's true, they might launch it on 2022 Q1 and by Q2 availability will follow. As for the 20% IPC and all that, so far Intel didn't make any press presentation or bold moves like AMD (showing off 15% gaming boost just with a stacked SRAM cache on top of Zen 3 chiplet). And on top they are going DDR5 and PCIe 5.0 it will cause a lot of price hikes for both DDR5 and Gen 5 equipment. Then there's Raptor Lake which is going to take on AMD, but by that time Zen 3+ with V-Cache is going to run rounds at-least from the strong AMD moves it suggests. But it all boils down to platform stability and longevity.
 
I prefer Intel because of the stable clock speed options, stable drivers, better BIOS in the end and ability to run Win7 on most HW with ease due to monolithic design, AMD needs scheduler updates from Win10 May 2019 for CPPC and etc and constant BIOS AGESA updates. Then we have X570S Dark also incoming but how much it will help ? IF clock at 1900MHz itself is a luck, just like IMC of RKL at 3866 and up on G1. As for the rock solid clocks, AMD CPUs are better off auto.
 
As for Kingpin edition it won't be coming as per EVGA, maybe they are going to release that for X570S Dark ?

Dark looks great. I built my pc on z490 series last year so it will have to wait.

Z590 dark is a bit beefier compared to the old model but Z490 is optimised for 10th gen and Z590 is optimised for 11th gen so it depends more on which CPU you are going to run.
