I expect it to be a horrible movie.  As for scary movies, the only ones I'd give that much credit to are the original Exorcist and The Shining.  I want to see Sinister, it's getting great reviews.  The first Silent Hill movie had good atmosphere, but they throw all of the great writing out the window.  The Silent Hill games, at least 1-3 and especially 2, have better and more creative writing than most movies.

You cant forget The Thing! And of course JAWS! JAWS is the reason why millions of people think twice before entering the ocean.

Seriously, Jaws and The Thing SUCKED.  Can't say the same to the Exorcist, Shining or Grudge.

Anyway, I got distracted with W8 launch this weekend and good thing.  This sequel SH3D has issues in the 'entertain me' dept

I personally saw demons that did not want to leave my grandma's house after she died.  They were not my friends though they entertained my grandma day and night. FYI, all ghosts are demons, fallen angels (not humans that died).   If you believe otherwise, you believe the LIE.

You don't have a soul that survives the death of your human flesh.  Oblivion is what exists after death with a 'hope' of resurrection in the FLESH if you have a faith. Jesus never resurrected anybody to heaven, rather on earth as a preview of his coming 1000 year reign.  That is why you don't hear any witness tales of Heaven/Hell for humans.  A *soul* tale that survives the death of the body is all a lie by the master liar of mankind.  That is why no hell raiser film ever got my goat.

My convicted belief is probably why the three movies I picked scare the crap out of me.  They are based in reality.  And yes, demons can overtake you and violently destroy your concepts of life.
Kill a bug and get the point of oblivion.

You should watch "Frontiers".I was watching the TV one night and that movie just started and I was like, meh, french movie, but that movie became one of my favorites.

Fontiers is a hacker slasher flick> ooh scary NOT

If you want a horror fantasy and R flicks don't bother you, see the entire True Blood HBO series.  That is good sick stuff.

I find Jaws to be a bit overrated, but it's definitely a good film.  As for The Thing, I totally forgot about it.  John Carpenter's movies were usually fun to watch, but I don't consider them scary.

This movie out did Jaws.  Again, entertaining but not shivering scary.  Setup for another entertaining sequel though.

For us guys I really don't think any movie is shivering scary. Of course there might be some moments when its really quiet and them some loud noise startles us. But that's about it.

Movies that scared me as a child were things like The Blob and Nightmare on Elm Street and Pet Sematary. I remember watching The Blob when i was like 5 or 6 years old.

As for the greatest horror movies of all time check out these lists and you can see where I got JAWS and The Thing from because they are number 1 and 2 on the Boston list. I just watched The Thing last night for the first time kinda (ive seen bits and pieces on cable but never from start to finish)

Don't bother spending the money to see it in theaters (Silent Hill) acting is awful, the monster CGI is right there where it belongs but everything else is b movie quality.

And the movie looks terrible, I don't see how anyone could want to see this. It looks like a parody almost, first movie was barely watchable, but this....like I said, it's as if they want it to be a parody.

I think opinions is sooo different for each individual, I dont think any review can substitute your own point of view of movies...

For instance the guy above barely likes the first silent hill, while I watched it 4 times.. The other guy hates The Thing, I watched that probably 17 times..

You're on target
Convictions are realities
Want to see a demon?
If you do, they will demand a child most precious to you.
Still want to see this demon I can show you?

Oh god.. compare this to the Live Action RE movie and this looks like  The best movie in the world.. If you want to see one video game based movie this season make it this one.

Though the CG RE movie that Capcom made is good

The 2 CG capcom resident evil films i've seen are decent, just like how advent children and the two apple seed films are decent. Better than the live action RE for sure and many other movies, but it could be done better.
