Nothing exciting, I don't think that far ahead. Peaking around. Want a water block.
I doofed and removed the AIO so plan is to get thermal paste and clean up my mess...

Well I need to clean it up cause while wiggling and being dumb, It needs reapplication. If I could get a waterblock I would like to attach it to this:
(Though this ones kind of lower end, it would be the start of a whole new empty wallet)

Oh I see what you mean by favorite, sorry my head is a zonk. I'm putting bolts in bags and going to bed.
I was thinking of getting this: https://www.amazon.com/Thermal-Grizzly-Kryonaut-Extreme-Compound/dp/B08F78P2J3/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=kryonaut+extreme&qid=1610186022&sr=8-1

Totally up to you  .. not sure you will see any big difference between some other T Griz products

and these wont drain your wallet so fast ... the difference in W/mK is small ... doubt its even 1 C on your GPU

World records ... sky is the limit for budget ...

Save some $$$ & look at these:

    http://thermal-grizzly.com/en/products/16-kryonaut-en

    http://thermal-grizzly.co...oducts/14-hydronaut-en

If you have never run a chiller before - go learn about dew point - because you don't want it to "rain" on your PC

I'll keep an eye out for your updates

I’ve read on the chiller for a while it would be my first adventure. I’ve read tons, and also misunderstood how condensation worked initially and all the good stuff. I think my first run won’t be to jump straight to extreme. maybe just see if I can get it hooked up and working.
I do game on the card so even if it didn’t set records, or have huge noticeable gains, the point is it will be fun, and it’s healthier then other things I could be doing 😎

When any part of your loop goes @ or below the dew point, then condensation (from the humidity in the room air) will form water droplets on the cold surface, until the water's surface tension can no longer hold the weight = rain or water migrating where bad things happen

Just to confirm, to take the shroud off the backplate is also off? but the heatsinks remain intact on the card?

I would like to try a GPU block, would be nice if backplate could stay attached.

My backplate is still attached. I think it would come off now, but there is thermal pads between the backplate and the card. Everything else is attached.

You don't have to remove the OLED if don't want to. My case isn't visible from the outside so I just took it off.

The 4 shinier larger screws don't need to come off, that's for the AIO. That's where I messed up and now have to do some clean up.

I ordered just normal Kyronaut for now. Just $9 so I can get it cleaned up. Yeah I know about dewpoint, condensation, insulation, vaseline, kneaded erasers, plasti dip, it sounds like it gets pretty fun from there. But the first run won't go that far. You can temperature control the water from the water chiller and set a range so it's not turning on and off every 5 minutes.

Just need someone to make a waterblock or all of this is just a dream.

Thanks Clovis, any chance you could measure the diameter of the pump top?

Indeed, that screw is there so that eVGA knows the card's heatsink has been removed.  It's not a "warranty void if removed" non-sense, just to let the RMA department know the heatsink was removed, so they know to double check that/mounting as a possible resolution to issues the card is having.

I know a few people did a boo-boo trying to yank the heatsink off without removing that screw first during hybrid cooler installation & were unpleasantly surprised when the PCB screamed at them.

The RMA depo at EVGA has been amazing to me in the past. Just inform them if you took off the heat sink.

Mine still works, for now.... for now...
So totally not planned... The thermal paste arrived today... So I started cleaning....

They like their thermal paste apparently. It also looks like the block cools the plate, cooling the something underneath it.

Not the cleanest, it was really hard to get their paste off. Some I just peeled off in huge chunks.

I didn't want to do this. I went with CoolGTX recommendation and just got some $12 regular Thermal Grizzly paste. If I ever get the chance to go more exotic I can splurge for that extra degree. Also starting to wonder if I'll have enough paste by their design.

You definitely want to go with more then 1g of paste. I thought I was only going to have to do the die, but you will want some where the outer edges touch the other plate still on the card. And I didn't have enough. So ...

The paste should probably be making contact with the memory heat spreader, and the core, which means it isn’t going to look great, but will wick heat away from the memory as well.

I don’t understand why the other Hybrids couldn’t get the same VRM heatsink treatment. Instead we got dinky aluminum sinks.

I'm going out of town and then I already am going to have to redo it. My Memory temps went through the roof compared to what I had before.
When I do it next, I plan to do the die like you normally would, then add paste here

The paste I removed, was some of the hardest thermal paste I've ever had to remove in my life. Like they applied it in 2006 ... Maybe because there was so much of it. But I felt like I went through an abnormal amount of cotton swabs. And you can see I even gave up at some point. When I redo it next I will get more of it off since I will have enough to replace.
