My T2 850 has been powering my 9900K/1080i FTW3 rig well the last couple of years.  Can it power the FTW3 which I heard can draw serious power spikes?

there's a thread of PSU's that people are using that seem to work.....

but if it's an older PSU, it may be time to buy a new one, if you can find one.

I would probably think of jumping to a good 1000 watt psu if it was me, I'm always playing on the safe side though.

I would say an upgrade isn't necessary, but you may want to consider it at some point when you can.  Even at a pretty heavy OC on the 9900K, you're only going to be hitting around 170-190W under maximum load, which you won't really see in games.  Add to that the 3090 drawing ~420-500W under heavy load, and you're almost at 700W draw just from those... then you add in your other components, drives, fans, RAM, etc... I wouldn't say 850W isn't "enough" but 1000W would be better and more efficient as long as you get a Platinum or Titanium rated PSU.

    Best of luck.

you should be ok ,  it is an 850 Titanium rated unit.... but prepare yourself in the potential need of a 1000W sooner than later

Try running RTX Minecraft for 10-20 min and see if it trips OCP. My 850w PSU couldn't handle it and tripped OCP with my 3090 FTW3. Upgraded immediately. Went with the G2 1600. Overkill but it was what was available. Not a lot available now though.

I'm currently using a Corsair HX850i with the 3090 FTW3 Ultra hybrid and a Ryzen 3900XT and have not had any issues, so I would say that for now you are safe. Long term you'll probably want to get a 1000w PSU to be on the safe side.
