I'm running into an interesting quirk that I wonder if it may perhaps be a bios bug. I've been experiencing this issue periodically since I did this build.. it just took a bit to narrow this behavior down and isolate it from a few other things.

I am running the SR-3 DARK with the 3175x, 2080 TI hydro copper, 1300w P2 psu, and an ekwb loop. I have applied a light/conservative OC to the CPU (4.3ghz. used to be 4.5 but lowered to 4.3 to see if this issue went away). What I find is that if Windows power mgmt is set to Balanced, I will run into one of the two below issues within 24 hours of the system being online. If I set it to High Performance, it can run for weeks fine and this issue never occurs.

The two things which manifest on Balanced:
  • The computer blue-screens with a cpu watchdog error
  • Computer hard freezes and requires holding in power button to reboot

Has anyone else experienced this?

    Yeah..Increase the Vcore some..Maybe 0.05v or so.

You might need to increase Vcore Offset by 10 or 20 mV instead of Vcore. The voltage ripple from load to idle is probably too great, causing it to dip too low. Increasing Vcore will affect only the load voltage (which may already be stable). Increasing the offset will increase both idle and load voltage.

Very interesting. I run into the same issue (same board and CPU) only if I set the power mgmt to "High Performance" - Balanced works fine but I do get the hard freeze if I set it to High Performance and leave the PC idle for ~ 10 minutes or more.

I set it to Balanced and never looked back but the V-Core Offset suggestion in the post above is something I will try out.

Glad I caught this post, though don't know how much the issue will affect me. I've got an SR-3 as well, with a W-3265 scheduled to show up Friday.

With that CPU I don't believe you should have an issue since you aren't able to overclock it.

Yeah, I knew about the cpu's locked status going in. Going to use it in a workstation. Overclocking wasn't the primary consideration in the use case.
