I'll just get to the point.

I've just had some crazy issues when trying to setup SLI in my new system.

1. I powered my PC down. I took out my Asus Strix 1080 then took out my riser cable and slotted the card into my motherboard.
2. Installed the Second Asus Strix 1080 in the second PCI-E slot and clipped on the HB SLI bridge.

Now the system won't detect any GPU at all. Even just with the original GPU installed.

I connected with a USB monitor and I'm able to boot into Windows fine but I cannot access the BIOS with the USB monitor.

I have tried Uninstalling the previous gpu drivers with DDU and installing Nvidia drivers but no GPU is detected. I can't see any GPU in Device Manager or Task Manager.

I also tried both cards in another system and they work 100%

Edit : I tried resetting the bios now I'm stuck at debug code : Ab and there is no way for me to see the bios screen.

Herewith my PC Specs :
Intel I9 9900KF
EVGA Z390 FTW (I did plug in the extra 6-pin power at the bottom of the mobo for load balancing when using SLI)
4 x 8 GB Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB
Corsair 1200 HXi 1200 watt

Bad pci-e slot? Have you tried to clear the cmos? Have you tried testing the cards individually in the second pci-e slot?

I have tried both slots with one card and still no display output after attempting SLI. I can confirm both cards work individually in my other system.
After clearing the CMOS and flashing the stock BIOS I'm stuck with Debug Code: Ab - Setup Input Wait
I cannot access the Bios with my USB monitor.

I believe Ab means you're sitting in the bios. What happens if you press F10 followed by Enter, or Enter then F10 followed by Enter again?

I cannot access the Bios with my USB monitor.

Guessing that's probably the whole deal right there.

Roll with a DVI, HDMI or Display Port output from that card.

One of the F keys might get you past that error.

I have tried all the F keys with a combo of F10 and Enter and nothing. I even tried 2 different keyboards.
I've tried 4 different GPU's and all the outputs on them and still no display whatsoever. Also tried VGA/DVI/Displayport combos with no luck.

I can't seem to see any physical problems with the PCI-e slots or the CPU socket See Images here:

No it will not working. This is for support 3-way Sli or 4  but for Two Ways Sli which no need that cause boot up!!!
Please have a look in manual book pages 36
I remember my Old MSI Xpower do have those 6-pin PCIe which I used this for 3-Ways SLi when I have remove third card and make 2-Ways Sli it stop working so I have to remove 6-pin PCIe cos it which support more than two cards!!!!

Although the Z390 FTW does not support 3-way or 4-way SLI, connecting a 6-pin PCIe connector is recommended if running two or more high-end graphics cards in SLI

Reset your bios and remove the power from wall then let drain power down for 10 sec while you doing ...Try remove second graphics card and leave first on top PCI-e so try test boot up after tens mins..

EDIT > forget one more please remove CMOS battery after remove power from the wall..

Hang on I have notice that you are using HB SLi Bridge? I think motherboard not support HB Sli Bridge only Sli Bridge....

This doesn't matter anymore as I can't even get display out on either of the PCI-e slots with the 4 Gpu's I tried.

I don't think you get much of a performance difference between a HB Sli bridge compared to 2 x ribbon sli cables.

I'll repeat myself again... I have tried 4 different cards on both slots. With and without the extra 6pin power on the motherboard.

There is still no display output.

I'm in comms with customer support at the moment. Sent them pictures to verify with the technical team. I'll have to wait until Monday to get feedback.

Some back and forth with EVGA support and I'm finally processing the RMA.

I hope shipping the board back to Germany isn't too expensive!

    Update time!

So my faulty motherboard was sent two days ago but now South Africa decided to do a country lockdown because of the COVID-19 outbreak to keep it from spreading. And by doing the lockdown all exports and imports has been halted for 21 days...
This means my RMA ticket will expire and I have to log a new one! I'm so keen to get this over and done with.
