Soon as nVidia give vendors the go on selling them, EVGA will have them out. One thing EVGA has never been slow on rolling out is new video cards.

Unfortunately, I expect what will be made available will go straight to miners. There might be a glut of 10xx cards forthcoming.

It will probably be one or the other. But, it could be something else completely. We know the target of the discussion, even if the name is not known.

Might be able to laugh that pretty much all this ampere Turing stuff is based off one post where someone speculated that these cards are coming. If they actually are coming this is by far the best kept new GPU series secret in Nvidia history. I also put little faith in an article that just says it's info came from an unnamed source. Especially when it's the same totally unsubstantiated rumor. My unnamed source says Nvidia is releasing the codswallop architecture with 6,000 cuda cores 32gb gddr6 ram, and uses 185w due to massive improvements to the design efficiency. Also early benchmarks suggest 162% performance jump compared to Titan v. Take this with a grain of salt though. Lol. Bunch of click bait at the moment.

I would agree as well. I thought we were expecting a GTX Volta but I guess not? I mean were the Nvidia timelines only showing up to Volta? Never knew about the name Ampere. Quick spin around the block for 1 week and all I can say is I don't like them, they are not that much faster than my Titan X (p) -- might be driver issue Can't tell you what they are called --> just says Engineering Sample on the cover But these bad boys have three, 8-pin connectors

I was thinking that the name might not be 1180/2080 and such, but in fact the X180/etc there's a mobile chip called the mX180 that you can get drivers for, so X180 might be the name of the new cards. it also works out to 11 with X being 10 + 1 = 11, so X1 is 11. Also everyone loves the letter X, it's the coolest letter, even wears sunglasses I hear.

nV could find a warehouse full of unsold FX 5800s, rebranded them as "GT 1020s" and people would scoop them up for $300/piece at this point.

It will definitely be that much from EBay scalpers and crappy retailers that take advantage of stock.

I think your right about the naming scheme because the last cards that were supposed to be a 1xx variant got skipped, or maybe mobile only but I cant remember, and they went right to 2xx cards. They also went only mobile on the 3xx cards too, and some oems got desktop variants, and went right to the 4xx cards. Maybe the same thing this time, but since the mobile and desktop variants seem to be merging, that 11xx numbering might be for mining cards only and then 12xx for the desktop/mobile drop
