I finally upgraded my system to a Ryzen 9 5900x, and I was pretty excited to try out the Resize Bar support, since my z370 motherboard did not get a BIOS update to support it. However even though I've now pushed the overclock on my 3080 ftw3 ultra higher than before, I still get a worse benchmark on superposition. Turning off Resize Bar made improved the performance, but still not up to the same level that I had before.

Here is my old score with an 8700k

Here is the score with Resize Bar enabled on 5900x

After a restart, and turning off Resize Bar, it improved a little.

Finally here are my current settings in Precision. Unfortunately I do not have a screenshot of my settings with the 8700k, but if I remember correctly I was running +600 on memory and +125 on the clock.

This is on a fresh install of windows. The only background processes running are steam and PrecisionX1. I actually had more stuff running with the 8700k benchmark. I know that the driver version and benchmark version is slightly different, but would they really cause this much of a difference? I know that in real world performance this difference is negligible, but I'm just curious to figure out what could be causing it. Does the 3080 not actually support Resize Bar yet? I've seen some people say that it needs a BIOS update on the graphics card itself for it to work, but I couldn't find any solid info on that.

3080 needs new vbios to enable ReBAR. You are not enabling ReBAR right now with just new driver and motherboard settings. Wait for EVGA to release vbios towards the end of march

The post I saw claimed that the vbios is coming end of February. Now it's end of March. Where is this information coming from?

There is another re-sizeable bar thread already, I posted the link for the information posted by Nvidia.
Only the 3060 has Resizeable bar enabled.

None of this explains why I'm still getting worse performance with resize bar disabled. Have you considered actually contributing?

Pretty sure the culprit here might be your mem oc. At +1000 you're most likely seeing the ECC kicking in and actually lowering your FPS.

You can test this by loading for example heaven benchmark, pause it at certain point in window mode and then go with +600 and add +50 until you see FPS in the corner drop. Mine dropped at +1000, and the drop was from 248fps to 148fps.. Please also note that if you go high above the fps drop point, the mem speeds can compensate for the ECC.

I tested it, started at +400 on memory, and went up in +200 increments up to +800. Scores were 10855, 10909, and 10960. A very linear increase.
