So I go to purchase a 2080 ti from EVGA today & my CC fraud protection blocks the transaction. I clear that up with the CC, try & re submit. Now my EVGA account is blocked from ANY transactions. This is the second time this has happened with EVGA's garbage web store. The last time was when I tried to buy 980ti's.

Your web store is hot smelly trash. Please fix.

Use a different CC Set your Alerts on your CC to email and all it takes is a click on a Yes Button or even Text Message and all you do is text back the word yes. Then you resubmit on EVGA' Web Store, I need to resubmit two times but then it went through. You need to setup your CC for "Fraud Protection" that is what it is there for.

I pretty much use paypal every where it is accepted. I am not crazy about stores having my CC info.
That and PP has never been declined or flagged in any way.I use it at EVGA never had an issue.
Well an issue with not getting to the final checkout, with out having to clear cache, cookies, history, reboot, jump through 2 hoops.
OK you're right EVGA please fix your web store!!!!!!!!

In the future, call your CC BEFORE you try to purchase. You can set up preauthorization for your CC so it doesn’t get blocked.
The only annoying part is that they may only allow the authorization to hold for 24 hours. You may have to call a few times.
If you do banking with a banking app, you can usually set the transaction authorization in the app, which only takes a few seconds.

This hurts my heart when customers experience this because I understand all you want to do is commerce with a great company with great products. Multiple unsuccessful attempts as well as name/address discrepancies in your EVGA profile could throw an internal red flag on your account. You'll then get an Error 481 and will likely have to call us to get that removed. Using PayPal is the best way to avoid this altogether. I apologize for any inconvenience.

I agree with this statement, but in cases like this the card may be gone long before you can get the 'authorization' to use the card they gave you in good faith. There's an issue with both sides in this. The Credit Card Company should be quicker (no matter what you're trying to buy) about verifying you're attempting a purchase and eVGA shouldn't be so militant with banning accounts from the store....(Not sure how to address this unless by email asking if the person did indeed try to purchase something)..

Don’t wait for the card to be in stock. Set up the authorization ahead of time. It may be annoying, but it takes me less than a minute to set up the authorization. Jacob did say on Twitter last night that they are working on a system to hold the cart and reserve a card for a set amount of time, but it isn’t available yet.

it can be frustrating but i would rather have them be over zealous with security than have them not be, as stated before its a good ideal to talk to your CC company before a large purchase so they don't flag it, and use pay pal tied back to that card, that should prevent discrepancies with your address and gives you protections. the real culprit you should be upset with is all the thief's out there they try and buy stuff with other peoples cards, unfortunately that's the world we live in now.
