I installed a ML120 Pro fan on my hybrid kit............I bought a 3 pin to 4 pin connector so I was able to plug the fan into the card so it ramps up and down depending on the GPU temp.

According to EVGA support, fans plugged into the GPU do NOT ramp up and down. Not sure if it's the same for the hybrid kit but in normal Hybrid cards the rad fan is supposed to be a constant rpm all the time.

That is not true at all!!!!!!!

Read the whole thread, some input from EVGA techs near the end: https://forums.evga.com/Fan-swap-1080ti-SC2-Hybrid-Is-the-radiator-fan-dynamic-m2671874.aspx

Also a direct email from EVGA:

Hello,

On that card, both the fan and pump will run at a constant speed. There may be some confusion with this hybrid cooler and the CLC CPU cooler that we recently released, which does have more variation. The Fan slider/s in the Precision XOC program will just allow you to vary the VRM fan mounted to the PCB of the card. If you want PWM control of the fan you can unplug it from the card and run it straight from the motherboard, but that is not usually necessary or beneficial.

Regards,

The radiator and pump operate at a fixed speed. The four pins on the fan header are tach, PWM control, +12V, and ground. The pump and radiator tap power from the +12V fan power feed from the card. Only the fan on the card itself is variable, as it has the connections to the PWM control signal. The +12V is constant, and doesn't change.

If your radiator fan is changing speed, it's not doing so in response to the temperature.
