I'm experiencing black screens, crashes, and restarts after installing my RTX 4080 FE into my Z690 Classified. I'm currently running the latest BIOS (2.08) and Nvidia driver (528.02). I've also installed the firmware update from Nvidia to fix the black screen when the BIOS loads but as soon as windows loads it either goes black again or gives video and crashes/restarts shortly after. I've done a lot of troubleshooting and can't determine whether this is a hardware or software issue. When installing windows from scratch with the generic Microsoft driver loaded there is no issue with video, but as soon as Nvidia drivers are installed the screen goes black. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? I'm trying to decide whether or not it is an issue with the motherboard that warrants an RMA. I have no issue with integrated graphics from my 12900k.

Best thing to do would be to test the card in another known good working pc to verify the card is good. If you don't have another rig to test the card in then you could always take the card to a local pc shop to have it tested.

thought I fixed it earlier. Played 8 hours of gaming no problem . Now it’s doing it again after overclock . I went back in bios to change to default. Now it’s not picking up my display port monitor

Reset the BIOs to default so that nothing is overclocked and retest.

I haven't tested this card in another rig yet but I've experienced this issue with the FE version I have now and an ASUS TUF model that I ended up returning because I thought it was defective. The only workaround I've found is to put another gpu in the second pcie slot (in this case it was a EVGA GTX 1050 ti), connect the display port cable to that, open Nvidia Control Panel, set the Power Management mode in global settings to "Prefer maximum performance" (based on reddit post I found), and restart with the display port connected back to 4080. It seems like for some reason either Windows has trouble loading the driver for this card on this motherboard or there may be some idle power issues. After looking around at some other forums this appears to be a more widespread issue than I originally thought.

Same Issue. 12600k, 4080 FE, Windows 11 Home. Resets. Turned off ELEET on startup. Fixed ‘CPU and Memory has changed.’ Still Resets on its own.

Follow Up: Installed BIOS 2.12 Classified. No issues detected at the moment after 1 full day.
