I would rather have the option to buy it for $300 then no option at all. I won’t be surprised if the Optimus block runs $450+. Then again, the Kingpin isn’t supposed to be your value card 😭

Whats the power for, it got LED lights?

Will it be worth getting a KINGPIN HC at this point or should we wait for RTX 4000 series they have to be around the corner at this point... 3030 first available gpu's

You realize Nvidia won't release any new series until late 2022 at the earliest. They were already at 2 years cycles (Pascal 2016, Turing 2018, Ampere 2020), only releasing refreshes or ti/supers the next year, which means 4000 series weren't coming out until late 2022 anyways, and that was before COVID happened. I wouldn't be surprised if it gets pushed to 2023.

Just kidding selling dogcoin for Kingpin lol with HC crazy train playing in the background.... OG Gamers in the house looking to LN2 then water cool for life

Love it, I want to LN2 someday, baby steps. Perhaps for my first attempt it shouldn't be on a card that's hard to get :P

@Jacob_F or anyone else from eVGA, just curious of a for sure answer on this, does the HC block reuse the stock backplate?  Because I've done a lot of work getting my backplate cooling/thermal pads to maximum effectiveness, I'd hate to lose that.

Also, does this block have zero lighting except for the stuff next to the inlet/outlet ports?  That's kinda disappointing if so, given how nice the HC FTW3 block looks lighting wise.

From the listing photos I'd assume it uses the stock backplate.  Nothing there indicates a replacement would come with it or is needed.  Previous 2080 Ti block used the stock backplate.

Given that the Optimus FTW3 block is ~$400 out the door, I'd say it's a safe bet the KP version is going to be AT LEAST $450.

They should limit purchase of the KingPin Hydro copper block to only those who have purchased a KingPin Hybrid, absolutely no reason to do otherwise. Can't explain they fury I will have if these end up on Ebay instead of those who want them for personal use.

That is a great point. The folks who bought kingpins from eBay originally...serves them right for not going through the queue in the first instance. On the other hand, I would almost relish the scalpers getting stuck with block inventory that they cannot find an audience for on eBay....

What about for those that are still in the queue and would want a block?  Given the uncertainty of a production HC KPE, I think there may be those in that situation.  If I was in that situation, and given the long lead times everyone is currently experiencing, I'd grab what I could when I could.  While I agree that that could be a step to limit scalpers, it might leave others "certified gamers" locked out.

Well, every Kingpin on the bay was purchased through here, so limiting these to peeps purchased kingpin will not do anything at all.

I think you’re being naive if you think there will be no KPE block on the auction site.

The other than EVGA.com buyers can easily register their KINGPINS on their EVGA account (They should be doing this anyways for their warranty) so would also be able to be included.

Also allowing just any Elite members to purchase guarantees less "Certified gamers" with KP cards have access to actually getting the block. Limiting based on warranty registered cards would probably result in 90+% of actual end users getting access to the block, versus risking virtually every Hydrocopper to bots/scalpers just so people in the KP queue (who very likely will never get the card) have access to buy it as well. That's just plain selfish.

Jacob on Twitter said it reuses stock backplate and oled.

Oh the HC queue is to go by, they may have “some” stock to ship out for the first x number of queue spots.

I believe they sent purchase invitations to people that registered till 16 seconds after the auto notify button activated for 3090 HC.

Current KPE Hybrid owners should get first crack.  Just because someone is in a notify queue doesn't mean they are actually buying a card.

Seriously though... it's about damn time, jesus. Hope it performs better than the 2080Ti KP HC block.
