Hi, Hopefully someone will be able to help me out. I am having an issue where my video card is crashing 1-3 minutes after starting a game(Flight Simulator and Battlefield). I updated windows, precision x1 bios, and nvidia drivers but its still crashing!
Please if anyone else is experiencing the same issues and knows how to fix it, it would be much appreciated.
Thanks

How can anyone help you? You didn't provide any details on your system. All we know is you have a RTX 3080. CPU? Motherboard? RAM? Power supply? Is anything overclock? Age of the system?

Not sure about what the reflash motherboard bios is. I did get a error when my game crashed the one time, but it was only there for a moment before it disappeared. it said something about directx insufficient memory allocation or something like that. Ill try to get the error again and take a screen shot of it.

Is the crash happening only in those 2 games or is it repeatable in all your games? You could try using DDU to do a fresh install of drivers. Select Nvidia drivers and use the Clean and Restart option in the upper left and let it run. https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html Just make sure you already have the latest driver downloaded before doing the clean wipe and install.

Those are the two games I play and have installed at the moment. I will try your Driver reinstall program see if that helps.

I would also suggest testing some other games and see if it's repeatable after you do the clean driver install.

Just wondering if you are using a pig tail on one of the 8 pins or using all 3 independent cables. is the crash a reboot? CTD? or BOSD? And is windows updated and what version are you running

Hi, I am running independent cables to the video card. 2 in total. 2x 4 pin connectors. Not sure what CTD and BOSD are but its crashing back to desktop. I just updated my windows 10 pro to the newest version hoping that would fix the issue but it didnt do anything. It was working fine up to yesterday with it never crashing but today.... I dont know what changed? Also, just installed another game. No luck with that one as well. Crashing back to desktop

10-4 ; CTD = crash to desktop, BOSD = blue screen of death, as a 2 * 8 pin , its probably a XC3 3080? all the updates the MSFS have been geared toward windows 11 updates and such, are you running it in DX 11 or 12, or do you know? default should be DX11, I would look at your Motherboard MFG Bios and see if there is a new Bios that is compliant with windows 11 and make sure you have TPM enabled , I had that problem the Update 6 .

Did you do the clean driver install? Also do you have another PC you can test the card in or perhaps a friend's PC that will let you test it and see if it crashes there. I'm assuming it's not hardware related though and probably has something to do with updates you did. If all else fails a fresh install of Windows may be in order. PS: CTD = Crash To Desktop and BSOD = Blue Screen of Death

agreed, if nothing is helping, A fresh a clear cmos, bios flash to the latest and a fresh windows might be in order. something is probably corrupted.

Is your system ram running faster then 2666MHz? If yes, try lowering your ram speed to 2666MHz to see if that will help with the issue. No need to reinstall the os either as you can just use windows system restore to restore your system to a day when everything was working correctly. Is your RTX 3080 a factory overclocked card?

Try turning on dummy power load . this one fixes all the crashes and random restart
