Just purchased this card second hand without doing my homework on the high failure rates of these cards. Card seemed to work okay for some minor bench tests and stress tests and even ran far cry new dawn for a few minutes of game play so I thought I was in the clear. Then I ran unigin superposition for about 10 mins and my screen would blackout then reboot and would not let me log in or would bsod, so I assumed it was a driver issue. So I removed the card, I uninstalled the drivers and ran 3dguru DDU to clean everything then reinstalled the card and NVidia drivers again and it seemed to work fine again. Ran unigin again for about 10 mins then it started showing some artifacts on the screen before rebooting. This time as it attempted to boot back into windows it displayed green artifacts all over. I removed the card and drivers again and installed and older NVidia 2070 driver to see if that would fix it. Nope. Froze and BSOD again. Previous owner claims he had owned this card for about 6 months with no issues and assured me that if anything went wrong he said the card still was under the 3yr warranty. I asked him to get me the original receipt but said he can’t find it anymore. I’m starting to get the feeling I got suckered into purchasing his problem card and now the hassle has been passed on to me. I guess I should do my research more before risking a lot of cash on something this expensive.

I would underclock the card and see if that helps. Also might be worth taking the side off the case to see if it’s a heat issue.

I’m not 100% sure on how that all works. I was reading about evga offering warranty for second hand purchases but I’m a bit confused about how I am suppose to provide a proof of purchase if the seller isn’t able to provide me one. All I have is a record of email money transfer to their phone number.

I would contact support and see what would be required. Also you could contact the seller and see if they have any information on it. Sometimes just the emails can prove it was purchased from the guy and if he registered the card it should be enough I would think.

but WHY should you have to pay for the RMA & shipping if you were sold a broken product ? Make the seller do right !

I’m pretty sure it’s not my cable. Like the computer would crash and freeze up. Plus the cable is working find on the integrated gpu

Yeah I read that last night. I ended up getting ahold of evga customer support on the phone and went thru the process. They were really friendly and accommodating. Gave me some insight into the history of this card and such. Apparently it was a replacement card that was sent out just about a month ago so it isn’t even that old before it died. On record there’s been another previous owner before the one I purchased it from and original purchase date was back in October 18, 2018. They told me what I had as proof of purchase should be good enough to get an rma approval so crossing fingers that I’ll get another new 2070 and hope it isn’t a dud as well.

Yep. EVGA makes it easier for second hand warranties since the only proof you really need is the GPU and it's serial since it's the GPU that has the warranty and not on the user so as long as you have the GPU and it's serial, you should be good to go, granted the warranties on these GPU's start when the original GPU was manufactured, knowing you still have 2+ years left on the GPU. I'm sure EVGA will take care of you and glad you chose EVGA to do this with otherwise it wouldn't have ended so well.

Yup. She’s already boxed up and ready to ship. Now just have to hope the replacement isn’t going to fail as well. Pretty mind blown that the card I bought was already a replacement unit just barely a month old and already needed to be replaced. Guess it’s pretty hard for them to be able to pull out every card in stock and bench test them for longevity lol

My 2080Ti FTW3 Ultra Gaming did the same thing after 6 months of use. It kept getting worse and worse until it became a total brick.
