Just wondering if there will be a BIOS that increases the power limit beyond 112% ?
The card being water cooled runs cool I've never seen a temp while in use above 44c.

Why cant this card get a bump in power since other hotter Air cooled cards are getting bumps up to 130%

If you're willing to take the risk you could try flashing the ftw3 ultra vbios to your card to get a 338w power limit... https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/212086/evga-rtx2070super-8192-190626-1

i thought about it, the cards appear to be similar, would the flash let me know if it was going to fail before doing it?

Is there a way to take my extracted bios and edit just the power limiter? and re-flash with that instead of the ftw 3 ultra bios? i tried nibitor to edit my bios but it doesn't recognize it.

    No & No.

If you end up bricking your card you could always do this to fix it.

Thanks for all the advice Sajin, I'll consider giving this a try and report back when and if i do this.

i have no real reason to do this but i don't like knowing that i paid for something that's being restricted ;) don't get me wrong my 2070S Hybrid has a ton more headroom to perform based on what I'm seeing the 112% is defiantly holding it back.

Best way to Know what is holding your GPU back is to Run a benchmark for load & GPU-Z --> look at the Sensor Tab for PerfCap Reason

Any game, even with a FPS cap and stock settings all perfcap reasons are present. my previous 1070 hybrid ran flawless and was quiet, this card also makes an annoying noise when i launch any games. doesn't matter if its Stock or overclocked. EVGA really dropped the ball on this hybrid.

    I play on 1440P @ 165hz fps cap of 162

Cap the FPS to 140 and 120 and see if that lessens the noise you're hearing.  It could be GPU whine you're hearing since the higher the FPS, the higher the whine can get which is fairly normal with GPUs.  They are more present now since we are going way beyond the 60FPS/Hz norm we all are used too.

Noise is less at lower FPS, also verified by running a benchmark in window mode, as soon as the card is utilized it starts and as soon as i stop it goes away. i came from a 1080P 60Hz before this so this GPU whine is new to me. I built this new PC around low noise and this completely ruins that. I'm going to assume most cards have this issue but this is a bit sad coming from a $600 water cooled card that's supposed to be quiet.

no one should have to do this but I'm contemplating putting my desktop in a storage closet next to my desk so i cant hear it..
I work remotely due to COVID and cant Return the card as i don't have a backup card anymore and need my PC 24/7.

EVGA I've only ever bought your video cards this is disappointing.

Bump I also bought this same card expecting a power limit increase. Shame this is not the case. I have been an evga user since the 680 days.

Did more research it seems it is not up to evga but is an nvidia limit. (unless you pay the premium for a better PCB) MSI, GIG and others also only support up to 112% so I could not suggest flashing any bios other than the one that matches your own card.

Well guess this is all the performance I get until the 3080TI FTW card is available.
