Cool GTX
My LINK below is a GOOD read; it is also more current, with RAM performance information.

http://www.anandtech.com/...-scaling-on-haswell/10

Thanks Squall_Rinoa86 for sharing this link in my other post asking for Help choosing my RAM.

I Know you are trying to be helpful, but is there any newer data than 2013 ? At least that was the date of the posts on that page.

How about this, from February 2015?  "memory scaling on X99"

Just try searching "memory scaling on ------" what ever platform you want.

Hope this helps the form members.

It might be worth mentioning Intel Octane memory. To have 32gb of non-volatile memory that stays when I turn the computer off along with my volatile system RAM seems good and would really help speed up a hard disc drive. The only issue with it I see is SSD drives have fallen to where I would have to consider if I want Octane memory or if the money would be better spent on an SSD. Still waiting for more numbers to see how that plays out in the real world as Octane is pretty new.

Use an Associates Code & SAVE 5% - 10% on your purchase. Just click on the associates banner to save, or enter the associates code at checkout on your next purchase. If you choose to use my code I want to personally say "Thank You" for using it.

Friend got one on ebay for cheap and said there was no difference with a SSD and he paid 20 bucks for it. I guess if your on a budget maybe but you need to have a m.2 slot anyway and I dont see someone spending megabucks on a mobo just to buy a HD. Seems silly.

Also whats the comparability to current hybrids?

How much is difference between DDR4 2666MHz and SO-DIMM DDR4 2666MHz.
Now precisely, approximately 10-20% better performance.

I wonder if I should upgrade to 32gb 3000+MHz soon, I'm currently sitting on 16gb 2800 MHz but RAM needs have been getting steadily higher, especially with infinity fabric that gives a decent boost to performance.

I don't have resources now. I need to pay 350 euro for watercooling.
But that's parts without any waterblock. Because I have Monoblock and GPU cooling will be build on Summer.
Can you imagine 350 euro, pump-res, radiator, fittings, adapters.

And I really don't have 400 euro for 32GB od Dominator Platinum while computer use half of 16GB max.
I plan to update platform when DDR5 show up and than I will go immediately on 32-64GB.

Now that you mention it that's probably the path I'll take too. Why get DDR4 when DDR5 is on the horizon and is rumored to boast a 2x increase in speed.

I would disagree with some of that graph. I haven't seen a game yet that can't run properly on ultra settings with 8gb of RAM.

Very good info.
I had a problem where I upgraded my ram and my video card stopped working. Have you ever heard of that? I am starting to dive into researching it but wondered if anyone ever heard of that.
